✨ Welcome to Our Mountain Sanctuary – A Place of Healing, History & Harmony
Nestled in the breathtaking mountains of Northern California, our 100-acre nonprofit sanctuary offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature, animals, and community. Once a historic gold mining site, our land is now home to rescued animals, lush gardens, a tranquil spring-fed pond, and even a whimsical castle!

    🌿 What Makes Us Special
Wander among free-roaming peacocks, ducks, geese, Guinea hens, chickens, doves, pigeons, and our friendly emus, pigs, and sheep. Help care for our five beloved rescue dogs who protect the sanctuary day and night. You’ll also get to witness the beauty of a natural spring cascading into a pond full of thriving Florida largemouth bass—yes, you’re welcome to fish!

    🛠️ What You’ll Be Doing
WWers here join our daily rhythm, helping with:

    Feeding and bonding with animals

Cleaning coops and maintaining animal enclosures

Gardening – planting, weeding, and harvesting organic vegetables

    General upkeep of the sanctuary

Cooking and sharing community meals (kitchen access included!)

We value collaboration, creativity, and a sense of humor. If you love animals, gardens, and making things beautiful, you’ll feel right at home.

    🍽️ Meals & Living
Food is community-based and abundant. We share meals made with fresh organic eggs, garden harvests, and pantry staples. WWers can cook (especially if you enjoy it!) and will always have access to the kitchen.

    🏰 Unique Experiences

Explore an abandoned gold mine and historic structures

Learn about the rich culture of California's Gold Country

Swim, fish, or relax by our peaceful pond

Enjoy quiet time in nature or creativity in the shared space

    🛌 Accommodations
You’ll stay in a cozy trailer, tent, or cabin (depending on season and availability), with access to showers, kitchen, and shared spaces. Expect rustic charm with beautiful views and star-filled nights.

    🌄 Off Time Adventures
Located in Nevada County, our area offers rivers, creeks, trails, and hidden treasures for day trips and exploration. We’re close to Grass Valley and Nevada City, both filled with charm, art, and gold rush history.

We welcome open-hearted people who are curious, respectful, and eager to learn and contribute. Whether you're training the new garden, cleaning out coops, or sharing a meal by the pond, you'll leave with memories, stories, and a piece of the mountain in your heart.

Let us know when you’re ready to experience the sanctuary. We’d love to share it with you.
