Description
Built in 1853, the house was built for a Captain - an oysterman - and his wife. It is located on the North Shore Waterfront of Staten Island, NY.
Living here is by no means the ‘usual’ NYC living situation... but rather an extraordinary experience that brings expansion and inspiration every day. It is a true sanctuary in the midst of the hustling city.
We are a married couple with a 1.5 years old baby and a newborn . Living, curating, restoring and maintaining the home's magnificence is our current objective. We are sculptors and Architects, gardeners, hands on real world diy ers.
The house holds four stories and a roof-level cupola. A few features are:
- 40 x 20 ft Pool
- Garden with organic vegetables
- Commercial appliance kitchen
- An indoor wood fired pizza oven
- A fully equipped bar room with an ice machine and a soda gun
- An abundance of architectural salvage, antiques and furniture
- High Ceilings
- An office

The house & grounds themselves are just magical. There is a vibe here that is hard to describe, so calm… read more
