Travellers will have the chance to experience authentic rural life in the Colombian coffee region. You can learn about local traditions, native plants, and sustainable gardening practices while working directly with the land. We enjoy sharing our culture, food, stories, and the calm rhythm of countryside living.

You’ll also have opportunities to practice Spanish, discover regional customs, visit nearby coffee farms, explore nature trails, and learn about the biodiversity of the area. This is a great place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and understand daily life in a small Andean community.

Whether it’s learning how Colombians grow and use plants, understanding local history, or simply enjoying meaningful conversations, you’ll leave with a deeper cultural appreciation and new skills.

  • Help

    Help

We are looking for travellers who enjoy nature, gardening, and outdoor work. The help we need includes tasks such as planting, weeding, pruning, watering, composting, and keeping the garden areas clean and healthy. Depending on the season, there may also be small projects like building garden paths, creating planting beds, or maintaining our fruit trees and vegetable patch.

No special experience is required—just a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and comfort working outdoors. We appreciate helpers who are responsible, independent, and respectful of the calm rural environment. In exchange, you’ll enjoy beautiful landscapes, fresh air, and a peaceful place to disconnect and connect with nature.

In their free time, helpers can enjoy the peaceful surroundings, go for walks along the mountain trails, visit nearby rivers, or simply relax with a book in the garden. The area is perfect for anyone who loves nature, birdwatching, photography, or quiet reflection.

We are located a short distance from Manizales, where you can explore cafés, museums, cultural events, and the vibrant atmosphere of a university city. Nearby attractions include coffee farms, hot springs, natural reserves, and viewpoints with stunning Andean landscapes.

Local buses run regularly to and from Manizales, and we can help with guidance on transportation, places to visit, and activities to try. On weekends, travellers often enjoy visiting the Nevado del Ruiz area, exploring local markets, or joining small community activities in the surrounding countryside.

Overall, this is a calm and beautiful place where you can balance meaningful work with plenty of opportunities to explore and enjoy the region.
