    Description

I am Vicki, and I live and work in the beautiful Megalong Valley in the Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia (approximately two hours from Sydney Airport). Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, we are a small, family-run equine business owned by Belinda and Steve.

We offer trail rides, riding lessons, and equine-assisted therapy. Our philosophy is centred around relationship-based horsemanship, where we focus on building trust, communication, and emotional regulation with our horses. Alongside caring for our herd, we also work with participants of all ages and abilities, helping them develop confidence, life skills, and meaningful connections through horses.

We're looking for someone who enjoys country life, is keen to be part of a small team, and is happy to get involved in the day-to-day running of a working horse property. Every day is different, from feeding horses and maintaining the barn to preparing for lessons, trail rides, clinics, and local horse shows. If you have a passion for horses and are eager to learn, you'll gain valuable experience while enjoying an authentic Australian farm stay in one of the country's most beautiful regions.

Staying here offers more than just horse experience - its a chance to experience authentic Australian country life in the Beautiful Blue mountains. As a part of the family run business workawayers become involved in the daily routines and experience the lifestyle that comes with working closely with our horses and living on the land. We love sharing our knowledge, stories and way of life while also learning about different cultures, backgrounds and perspectives from the people who stay with us.

We are surrounded with Beautiful national parks, local markets, cafes and small town community events. There are opportunities to explore local towns and bushwalks nearby. Its a great place to slow down, connect with people and our incredible equine herd.

Experience with horses is preferred as we are particular about the way that we handle and work with our horses but this is also a great place for people who are newer to horses and genuinely want to learn.

Workawayers will be involved in the daily chores such as feeding the horses, manure pick-up, tidying and maintaining cleanliness of the barn and surrounding areas, as well as preparing hay and morning hard feeds.

There will also be opportunities to ride, have lessons with our team, gain insight into our show team, and possibly join us at local ranch shows to help out. We also run clinics and monthly lessons with outside trainers, giving you the chance to continue learning and developing your horsemanship skills while being part of everyday life.

We have an equine assisted learning (EAL) aspect of our business where we have practitioners working one on one with clients also in group sessions.
