    Description

Three of us live on a 6 acre communal property in the Brunswick Heads area of Byron Shire.

I am interested in environmental conservation, permaculture, aquaponics, renewable energy, surfing and other sea and land based outdoor activities. I work as a bush regenerator restoring native vegetation.

There is a comfortable retrofitted caravan available for guests. It has its own outdoor bathroom. There is a communal kitchen and dining area.

We are about 5 minute drive to the town of Brunswick Heads and 15 mins drive to Byron Bay. We have a stack of old surf boards lying around to lend and happy to share local knowledge of surf breaks in the area. Also have had extensive bushwalking experience in the region so I can take you to the magic unvisited spots.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I enjoy meeting people from other cultures and have travelled to many places around Australia and across the world including for tour guiding and conservation work.

I'm a friendly, fair, and open-minded man who enjoys fun and adventure.

I love to chat about a diverse range of topics and issues. I have lived in the area for over 20 years and can provide lots of local info. I am passionate about sustainability.

As a gay man I find it interesting to meet other LGBTQ travellers on their journeys from all over the world. I believe the world is a better place based on mutual respect without judgement and discrimination.

    Help

I work alongside people for support and team work. I never give jobs I am not willing to do myself. At the moment we are doing veggie garden maintenance, bush regeneration, nursery propagation, making biochar, aquaponics style ponds, upgrading the communal kitchen and other basic house maintenance.

We also all help out if we want to collect wood for an outdoor fire and cooking a communal meal.
