    Description

Our resort is a place where people can slow down, restore their energy and reconnect with themselves. The distance is almost 25 km from the airport and 35 km from the capital Paramaribo.

Together with a small local team, we are developing the property step by step. Our work includes creating a tropical garden and vegetable garden, improving guest accommodation, maintaining the grounds and preparing spaces for retreats, workshops and ceremonies. The meditation centre, forms part of the wider resort.

We work with a small team of five people: a manager, a gardener, a housekeeper, a cook and myself as allrounder (besides cooking that is not my speciallity). For repairs and construction, we hire a local contractor and his workers.

The resort is in development, the environment is simple and some areas may be under construction.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange is an important part of the experience. Travellers will have opportunities to connect with our team and local community, discover everyday life in Suriname and learn more about the country’s diverse cultures, traditions and natural environment.

    We enjoy sharing knowledge about:
    - Surinamese history, customs and way of living
    - Local food and traditional dishes
    - Tropical plants, gardening and agriculture
    - Medicinal herbs and the cultural use of herbal baths
    - Life in the Para district and its natural surroundings and old plantations
    - Music, stories and traditions from Suriname
    - Meditation, reflection and holistic well-being

We also hope to learn from you . We welcome people who are willing to share their culture, language, recipes, stories, practical skills and ideas. You might teach us a different gardening technique, prepare a dish from your home country, help us improve our communication or introduce a creative approach to one of our projects.

Our goal is to create an open and respectful environment in which everyone can learn from one another. We hope you as traveler leave our resort with meaningful connections, new knowledge and a deeper understanding of Suriname. But we also hope that we can learn something from you as a traveller.
