    Description

    Hello Workawayers,
Due to Covid-19 we are now accepting a few new guests for June to September 2020. With the concerns we all have in working to reduce the transmission of Covid-19, and in looking to reduce the possibility for contracting Covid 19 through outside visits to our homes we are looking for couples to stay with us during this time. Thanks for viewing our profile safe travels and stay healthy,

    John

Audrey and I have two homes, one in the mountain community of Canmore and a second in the Alberta foothills. We spend time between our properties and there is always lots to do farming, repairing fences and looking after livestock. We prefer that our workawayers take their relaxation time while in Canmore but there are also chores to be done while we are at our Canmore home. house keeping, yard work and general maintenance.
Canmore has great outdoors community , hiking, sking, and beautiful mountains, lots of summer and winter activities. Millarville is beautiful farm land with a year around stream , we have large raised garden beds and livestock to learn about. There are great markets, biking, and hiking in the area as well.

We just built a new barn at Millarville and doing a lot of the work ourselves. Carpentry, electrical, insulation, etc. We also have a large garden that needs the normal care sowing, weeding, and harvesting gardening does not start until May and finishes in October. . We also manage our tree lot with chain sawing lumber, and cutting firewood. While in Canmore there is less to do but we do have some yard work, house work and chores around the house.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

While staying in Canmore you stay in our home in a private bedroom with it own bathroom. At our Millarville property we have a guest bedroom and bath, an RV with multiple bedrooms and bathroom, and in the new accessory building a two bedroom suite with bathroom. All meals are normally prepared and eaten together with our family. There will always be plenty of food at every meal. There seem to be some confusion with some workaway hosts if you stay with us accommodation and meals are included.

We normally start our day with a good breakfast and then have one or two short breaks for refreshments and snacks during the day with a large meal at the end of the work day. We try and work extra hours at Millarville and then provide you with more time off in Canmore. Both of our properties offer lots to do, but Canmore is world famous for its beauty and outdoor activities. Summer, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, site seeing. Winter offers both great down hill and cross country sking, snowshoeing, wildlife photography, and more site seeing. Our home at Millarville has our horses, biking, hiking, and fishing in the stream. There are also farmers markets and three lovely small communities within a ten minute drive.
