We are a language school placed in South Spain, teaching languages for close to 25 years. We often need ESL Teachers (paid job) for our school. Simultaneously, we are developing Permaculture project at our farm and home. We are trying to build a community able to host some of our teachers and other helpers, in exchange of some working hours.

We are located in Ubrique, a picturesche and quiet village in the slopes of the Grazalema´s Mountain Range, in the province of Cádiz. You will meet the hospitable and kind people and culture of South Spain, along with the jammy mediterranean diet. We are focalizing on people ready to live and work in nature, with no problem in doing physical work and getting your hands dirty. This is fun!
Along with the learning of Spanish, you will have nature activities just around the corner. Trekking routes, mountain crossing trails, surfing spot 1 hour drive, africa spotting 1 hour drive... We are open minded people, we have travelled the world in different ways and love to share knowledge and skills, screen documentaries and start endless constructive discussions after dinner.
This host offers accommodation and payment.
We are looking for nature lovers willing to be immersed in a rural area of South Spain. You will be helping in a permaculture farm in the morning time (3-4 hours) and part-time working as an English Teacher in the afternoon - evening (paid job). The helping time could vary between 4 to 5 hours a day. The paid working time in the evenings will depend on the needs of the school. We can host 2-3 workawayers, and also accept couples. We ask for a previous experience of at least one year teaching English and some higher education as Bachelor degree or Training Module.
The project in the farm will be an authentic approach to permaculture principles. We have a design that has been developing for the last months, involving hot composting, vermicomposting, chickens, nursery, greenhouse, developing of local varieties, our garden, biodynamic plants, aromatics, solar, a project of food forest, ... Our aim is to establish a food production system able to feed the people living in the farm. And this people will be learning all these skills at the same time they are working in the evenings and having a wage. Sounds good? keep on reading...
After some experiences in other projects, we do not want to treat the permaculture project just as a kill time activity, but as an exciting project all of us can contribute to make it grow up. We will be some days cutting straw and chopping it down, mulching the crops, seeding new varieties, developing the planting calendar, managing chickens, developing the future food forest,... Being optimistic, there is also the posibility that we need to eventually cook or preserve part of the harvest. We will need you here as well. Do not worry if you don´t have cooking skills, we will tell you how to do it. What we are seeking is the desire of learning and the proactive attitude.
We are Spanish native speakers and we also speak English, so you will have the chance to learn some Spanish while you will not have any problem to communicate in English.
Spanish and English
You will have shared accommodation with ensuite bathroom in the main building of the farm. You will also have free use of the common areas, living, kitchen, outdoor spaces, etc. We do not provide meals because you wil have a paid job, so we will share the food expenses within all the members of the community.
We expect from candidates a long-term commitment, minimum 3 months, although 6-9 months would be perfect, since the offer includes a paid teaching job which implies a business organisation with tight trimestre schedules, often requiring previous training changes in schedules, etc.
If you are looking for a farming place where to stay for a while, learning a foreign language and improving your farming skills while getting immersed in a local environment and being part of a community of people willing to share and learn knowledge and skills, this is your place. At the same time you can have a part time paid job teaching English.
