    Description

    Hello Workawayers!

Welcome to our small, family-run guest house in beautiful Hakone, surrounded by nature, hot springs, and traditional Japanese culture.

Our guest house is a traditional ryokan, featuring tatami rooms, natural onsen baths, and a handmade Japanese zen garden designed by the owner, who is a professional Japanese garden architect.
Living here means enjoying a peaceful lifestyle, soaking in the onsen after work, and meeting travelers from all over the world.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys Japanese hospitality, connecting with guests, and becoming part of our small team.

    ◆ What you will experience

Living and working in a traditional Japanese ryokan

    Daily access to an onsen

    Learning authentic Japanese hospitality (omotenashi)

A friendly, supportive work environment where your ideas are welcome

A chance to build meaningful relationships with guests and staff

◆ What we are especially looking for

Someone who enjoys customer service and interacting with guests

Hospitality or hotel experience is highly appreciated

Ability to communicate in English and Japanese

Availability to work 3–5 days per week, 4–8 hours per day

A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive in Japan (occasionally helping with guest transportation)

◆ Length of stay & future opportunities

We are ideally looking for someone who can stay long-term (around 1 year or more).
For those who prove to be a great fit, there is potential for extended stays, full-time employment, and even support with a working visa in the future.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept applications for stays of 6 months or less, or from couples/duos, due to accommodation limitations.

    ◆ Compensation

¥1,250 per hour for those holding a valid working or working holiday visa

Other visa holders are welcome to contact us to discuss arrangements

If you are looking for a deeper experience of life in Japan rather than short-term travel, and would love to be part of a small guest house family in Hakone, we would be happy to hear from you.

We look forward to your message!
