Description
Farm dedicated to the production of cherries, for 20 years. Activities to develop vary depending on time of year, ranging from pruning and maintenance of the trees, to harvesting and packing. We have in terms of facilities, a villa that serves as lodging, sheds for sorting and packing fruit, and cold chambers for keeping the fruit fresh. The farm is 3 km from the village, Comandante Nicanor Otamendi, 15 km from Miramar and 30 km from the city of Mar del Plata. . Currently the villa is home to the project manager, Antonio, so the volunteer will meet with the comfort of an inhabited house in a rural and natural context. It is a colonial villa in a park of 2 hectares with fruit variety, an orchard and a pond for the summer. And around 6 lots of cherries. A creek that crosses the farm, stream the Brusquitas which flows into the sea just 15 km away. So all together form a perfect ecosystem for a quiet and pleasant stay, and a lot of work (play) for entertainment.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Living in contact with nature is the main benefit. They will learn the daily and cultural tasks that involve living in a rural environment. From generating their own food supply, to maintain and raise different types of animals. And everything related to the agroecological production of fruits. Workawayers will also have the experience of taking care of themselves (cooking, cleaning and washing).
Help
Volunteers will be required to support the practices we develop, mostly related to agroecology in fruit trees. Harvesting, pruning, monitoring of pest traps, and maintenance in general. There are different projects throughout the year, depends the time of arrival will be the tasks. As the construction of mobile shelters for chickens, with the premise of use as grazing and fertilization of the land.
Another can be the elaboration of jellies with seasonal fruits, from our establishment.

Accommodation
As for the amenities, today we have an old house for volunteering. That little house is in the process of being remodeled. It has only one room for two or three, a small kitchen and a small bathroom. The shower is an electric tank, provides 20 minutes of hot water per person. The house does not have heating yet. It is a project to be carried out, a Rocket stove. Project that is paused, and that we will activate only when there are volunteers.
We live in another house, 200 meters from volunteering. About meals; the system is self-catering with food provided. There are Wifi zones, only in our house and it is limited with hours. We expect about 5 hours of volunteer work, 3 in the mornings and 2 in the afternoons, after lunch.

The establishment is minutes away from the Atlantic Coast, close to two touristically interesting cities, Miramar and Mar del Plata. Kilometers of coastline, characterized by its cliffs and its rustic atmosphere, make it ideal to explore. The Nicanor Otamendi village, 2km from the Establishment, is a typical village of Las Pampas, an area in which we find ourselves, the ideal of the Gaucho, with its unique clothes, still alive in the town.
