Description
We live in a small village on 25 acres in the beautiful Northern Rivers , NSW, the property is 25 minutes from Byron, 15 from Lismore and has a fantastic pub 400 metres down the road. We are a non-commercial farm and have sheep, goats, chooks, bees, as well as a river on 2 sides of the property and dam that has an amazing ecosystem we are building. We are looking for help on the farm preparing veggie beds, looking after the animals and continuing to plant rainforest trees and general farm maintenance and help on small building projects. We have 2 large friendly dogs that follow us around the property and are keen to share our experiences of this beautiful place with others.
We are continuing to clear invasive plants and have been growing and planting 1000's of native trees which are bringing back the ecosystem. We have had many birds make their home here, including kingfishers, ducks, herons, spoonbills, rainforest birds such as parrots. We also have some rare and special animals that occasionally make an appearance including a resident platypus.
We both work in Sustainability and have many skills and experiences to share with people including tree planting, permaculture, bee keeping, animal husbandry and many farm practical skills such as tool maintenance, repair and operation.
We have just finished an apartment with a kitchen and on-suite so you will have your own space if wanted or join us in the main house.
