  ABOUT US AND OUR HOME
  
  We're a family of four - Nina, Steve and two children 11 years (boy) and 7 years (girl), plus cats. We live in the hinterlands of the Gold Coast, Australia. Our home is nestled on a leafy hillside in a quiet cul-de-sac in Worongary. There are lots of birds, possums and kangaroos!
  
  We are 10 minutes drive from the nearest shopping centre, cafe, shops and public transport (Mudgeeraba) and 25 minutes to the beach.
  
  We have a share car available for workaways to use. Helpers have their own bedroom with a Queen bed, wardrobe and shared bathroom and kitchen. Check out the photos of our home.
  
  We would also love to share our holiday fun and adventures as a family with our workaway visitors. This might include camping, canoeing, Woodford Folk Festival and some visits to the beach and Byron Bay.
  
  WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  
  We're looking for au pair / child minding help over the big holiday break we have in Australia from December to February. We’re looking for someone (or couple) who genuinely enjoys spending time with kids and getting involved in what they love. This might include playing games, getting creative with arts and crafts, helping with reading and writing practice, swimming, or heading out on little adventures to the park, beach or library. This help may also include some household support like cleaning, grocery shopping and keeping the house generally tidy, especially after playtime.
  
  OUR FAMILY
  
  We enjoy outdoor and nature-play activities (so many good beaches and bushwalks nearby), cooking, board game nights, yoga and music. We are a happy and warm family and are trying to learn French. Steve can speak 6 languages (wow!).
  Both Nina and Steve work from home. Steve runs his own businesses and is a passionate entrepreneur. Nina works for an indigenous Care for Country organisation on environmental projects. Our son enjoys creative art, maths and engineering and our daughter loves imaginative play, dance and performance.

  Help

  We're looking for around 15 hours of support a week with childminding over the holidays. For one person this could be spread across 2-3 days a week. We're flexible and open to finding an arrangement that works for your priorities and travels too.

  Steve can speak French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese and Italian at various levels. He LOVES languages. Nina is a beginner in French, Afrikaans and Japanese. We are trying to learn French as a household (and failing).

  Accommodation

  There is a private bedroom with a Queen bed and wardrobe. There is a shared bathroom with toilet, sink and shower, and shared kitchen and living spaces. There is a laundry and plenty of parking space, and a large swimming pool.
  
  We live with housemates and ask helpers to be considerate and respectful of their behaviour, noise levels, visitors and activities.

  What else ...

  We are a non-smoking home and appreciate a quiet house after 8pm (bedtime for our children) - we ask helpers to be mindful of music and noise after 8pm.
  No drugs or excessive drinking inside our home.
  Our home is solar powered - please use dishwashers and laundry during the day.
  We are a gluten free family and have severe shellfish allergies. Strictly no shellfish in the home (prawns, crab, bugs, lobsters etc) and if you cook with glutenous materials (pasta, bread, wheat etc), please carefully wash your equipment and clean the space after you've finished cooking. Helpers are responsible for their own food and meals, however we provide basic breakfast staples of milk, fruit, yoghurt and cereals and also very happy to share all our cooking condiments.
  If you would like to cook a meal to share, we are very happy to buy the ingredients.
  You are welcome to have guests visit - please ask first.
  We are seeking considerate and respectful people to share our home with.
