Description
We're a family of four - Nina, Steve and two children 10 years (boy) and 6 years (girl), plus a cat and three chickens - who live in the beachfront town of Ocean Shores, Australia. Our home is nestled in a leafy hillside in a quiet cul-de-sac - 4 minutes drive from the beach, cafes and shops - surrounded by vegetable gardens and bush.
We enjoy outdoor and nature-play activities (so many good beaches, bushwalks and bike trails nearby!), cooking, board game nights, yoga and music. We are a happy and warm family and are trying to learn French. Steve can speak 6 languages (wow!).
Both Nina and Steve work from home. Steve runs his own businesses and is a passionate entrepreneur. Nina works for an indigenous Care for Country organisation on environmental projects. Our son enjoys creative art, maths and engineering and our daughter loves imaginative play, dance and performance.
We love where we live and the strong community and earth-care values of this region - close to farmers markets, bulk food stores, organics, festivals, dance, music, nature and heart-centred people.Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
We would deeply value home help including cleaning, shopping, gardening and looking after our pets if we're away. We're looking for around 15 hours of support a week to clean the home, pick up our groceries and develop the gardens, including weeding, mulching, mowing and turning out the chicken coop.
If you're open to contributing to creative play with our children, have a language to teach us or some new cooking and recipes to try, we would love that too!
We are looking for support between June - December 2025 only.
We have bicycles and a share car available for transport or bike trails, and kayaks to paddle the Brunswick River.Languages

We have a separate cabin, roughly 3.5m x 5m, as a bedroom with a Queen bed. It is quiet and sunny and overlooks the gardens with a small patio underneath a grape vine. It has a separate entry from the main house. The bathroom, kitchen and shared living spaces are located in the main house.
The main house is a modest three bedroom home but there are two bathrooms and toilets in the home with the large bathroom - including a shower, bath and toilet - available to be used. The kitchen is cosy and opens to a basic dining and sitting area. We will be sharing a fridge, pantry and cooking space. We have an outdoor dishwasher and laundry, and a downstairs playroom where we try to keep all the toys and creative activities for the children! We have turned one bedroom into an office where Nina and Steve work and two bedrooms for our family. What else ...
We are a non-smoking home and appreciate a quiet house after 8pm (bedtime for our children) - so no loud music or conversation please.
No drugs or excessive drinking inside our home.
Our home includes solar power so we use our washing machine and dishwasher only when the sun is up.
We are a gluten free family and have severe shellfish allergies. Strictly no shellfish in the home (prawns, crab, bugs, lobsters etc) and if you cook with glutenous materials (pasta, bread, wheat etc), please carefully wash your equipment and clean the space after you've finished cooking.
We have unlimited wifi available.
You are welcome to have guests visit.
We are seeking considerate and respectful people to share our home with.A little more information

Wifi in the cabin can be inconsistent. We have a booster to help but we like to turn it off when it is not being used, so will need to understand your working hours and what works for you. Other options include a desk space available in the downstairs playroom where internet connectivity is better. There are cafes available close by as well.
