Our stay with Brad was ... weird. First, when we came he was very surprised we were 3 people despite of I clearly wrote the quote for 3, describing everyone. Luckily he was able to accommodate all of us in comfortable conditions with AC.
He asked for 25h work per week. When we asked how about food, he said he eats only breakfast... and he agreed
… read more he can also prepare a breakfast for us. At the end we bargained also lunch. Both were very similar every day: pasta with carrot, capers and fried bread. During work he surprised us also with delicious lemon smoothie. :)
About work. We did some weeding, banana trees planting, cleaning fridges and stoves, removing the lawn to lay pavers and separating branches from compost. There were at least 10 shovels but non of them was good to dig properly. There was no gate to enter compost, so we had to jump over the fence and also shovel the heavy compost over the fence. Separating branches from compost felt like fixing someone else's mistake in very unpleasant conditions.
It's hard to fully describe this experience. There was nothing super good nor bad, rather awkward. Generally the house was clean (there were also other tenants), the garden was a chaos. ** text redacted** Wi-Fi was turned off for the late evening/night (so mostly when we would like to use it). We spent there 1 week. You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
