Easily accessible by public transport from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, we are a small eco village community in Maleny, Queensland (Sunshine Coast hinterland).
The site is simply beautiful and we're enjoying living in harmony with nature. The property is a 5-minute walk across the Showgrounds, through the Obi Obi Rainforest walk, to the heart of Maleny - a wonderful, artistic, green and tourist town, known for its 'co-operatives'. One of the highlights is the 'Front Up Chalkboard' - A magical community music night on monday's at the 'Maleny Lane'.
We invite you to come and experience sustainable living at Maleny Eco Village. For many people, this is a life changing experience. We are a charity whose purpose is to care for land and each other.
Due to the demand of people wishing to experience life with us, we invite you for a maximum of 2 weeks. (Some offerings are less than that due to scheduling conflicts)
Please plan to come on the first day of the offering to get to know your other travelers. We usually invite you to arrive between 3.00-5.30pm on opening day to get settled in.
One of our core values is 'working together'. We put a lot of energy into getting to know travelers on our work programme. We aim to build a friendly, transformational experience. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
There are opportunities to learn about permaculture, syntropic cultivation, natural building, rainforest regeneration and setting up an ecovillage community. We can also show you how to prepare our favourite meal recipes. We can exchange English language lessons and discuss Australian culture, politics, history, etc. We also want to learn from you - we have had so many people from all over the world - of all ages (from 17 to 75) stay with us and we love the stimulus.

Help
Every day is different here. We have fun and carry out the work with love. We are removing invasive weeds to restore the rainforest, planting a permaculture food garden. There are many skilled and un-skilled jobs for people of all backgrounds. Tasks may include bush region, building, and gardening.

Accommodation
We have a “bunk room” in the main house. We like to host multiple people on our work programme so it’s even more fun for travelers.
There is space to park your car/van if necessary.
We eat together and you’ll be on the cooling roster as we share vegan meals together. No cats or dogs are allowed on the property as this is a wildlife sanctuary. -
What else ...
Maleny is a wonderful town to visit. There are many natural sites such as Mary Cairncross rainforest reserve, Maleny Botanic Gardens and Bird World, waterfalls, scenic walks and lakes. The lovely town of Montville is great for a day trip. There is public transport to the historic town of Landsborough, Brisbane and the beaches of the Sunshine Coast.
Unfortunately we won’t be able to take you to these places. There is public transport. We have e-bikes for you to borrow as well. -
