  Description

  We're looking for one or two independent helpers with skills in gardening (brush cutting, weeding,caring for veggie garden and fruit trees) and/other odd tasks according to your skills which might include cleaning or repair help around the house.
  
  We are a couple with grown children, two cats and two emus, on a beautiful and peaceful three acres of land. We need volunteers happy to work independently in a variety of garden and inside jobs. You'll have a private, cozy bedroom with veranda access, surrounded by trees and frogs. We'll share healthy, wholefood, vegetarian meals.
  
  We live on a spiritually-based cooperative community in the beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland. There is also an independent primary school with 130 children on the property (The River School) which is very inspiring to visit, if you are interested in holistic education. (Volunteers with blue cards warmly welcome to help out there.)
  
  This is a vegetarian, non-smoking, no alcohol property. There is an opportunity to learn about meditation, yoga, vegetarian diet and spiritual lifestyle. We have been meditating for over 40 years and practice daily. Many international volunteers have stayed with us over the years and we have always enjoyed them.
  
  Maleny is a small, progressive and friendly town and we are about 5 minutes drive away from town (or a half hour walk up hill). Our community includes creeks for swimming and many nice walks nearby.

  --We need someone who is experienced in garden work and can work hard and independently, including brushcutting, weeding, caring for a vegetable garden, pruning and mulching. This is a tropical area with rainforest, fruit trees, lawns, flower gardens and vegetable garden. Experience is essential.

  Accommodation

  You will stay in our house in your own comfortable bedroom with access to a veranda with a view over the trees. There is also space for a tent or caravan and some independent accommodation. You can share vegetarian meals with us.
  We ask that you don't have non-vegetarian food, alcohol or cigarettes or any drugs here. We also don't drink coffee, but if you need it, you can make it yourself.
  We have two friendly cats, two emus (!), and there are many native animals around including wallabies in the yard, kookaburras, lots of frogs and birds.

  What else ...

  It is easiest to be here if you have your own transportation, as it is about half hour walk to town. We prefer someone who can work independently and has experience with outdoor work. Two people (a couple, or friends) would also be fine. Children are also okay as we had four boys and still have many toys and we like kids.
  
  Generally we are pretty relaxed and can be quite flexible. We both work at home and come and go during the day.
