Description
Hello travellers,
We are a family of five- Francois, Arcana, and our three children, aged 12, 10, and 6-living quietly in the beautiful mountain valley of Lorinna, in the northwest of Tasmania. Here, on our 30-acre Certified Organic farm, tucked within an off-grid community, we are building a life deeply rooted in the land, family, and simple living.
Our home is surrounded by rolling hills, forest, fresh mountain air, and wide-open skies. It is peaceful & wild.
Francois is originally from Brittany (Bretagne, France). His passions are deeply connected to the earth, biodynamic and organic farming, fermenting, botany, cooking, gardening, viticulture, and of course, making and enjoying beautiful wine. He brings a wealth of knowledge, hard work, and a deep love for quality food and craftsmanship.
I’m Arcana, originally from Adelaide. My heart is in raising our children, home schooling, creating a warm and nourishing home, organic gardening, studying to be a herbalist currently, cheesemaking, baking, pottery, music (I play the harp & guitar & sing), looking after our farm animals and slow living.
We made the move to Tasmania from Margaret River in 2021, and purchased our land in 2025. This is still the beginning of our journey here, and there is much to build, plant, and dream into life.
Our Children are awesome in their own ways. The eldest is a hunter & loves anything survival- he could live by him self in the bush and survive longer than anyone we know. The middle is a horse rider/ singer with a stunning voice, who loves reading novels. And our youngest is a little comedian who wants to do everything her big sister does! All 3 children work with us on the land & are brilliant helpers.
At the moment, we are establishing gardens, orchards, chicken coops, fencing, and many other projects across the property.
We have recently planted our own Vineyard. Francois is a trained viticulturist and winemaker, and our vines are currently in the ground and in our nursery.
Our land is Certified Organic, and we live this wholeheartedly. Organic growing, clean food, and respect for the land are non-negotiables in our home.
We share our farm with sheep, horses, chickens, rabbits, and two much-loved dogs, and soon to have cows!
As a family, we love gathering around good food, conversations, music, fires, feasts, and meaningful friendships. We are social people, though equally happy spending quiet days at home together, working hard with our hands and soaking in the beauty of this place we love.
We welcome grounded, hardworking travellers who genuinely enjoy farm life, learning new things, and being part of family rhythm.
Accommodation is best suited to those travelling with their own van or caravan, although this summer we can host a tent or bell tent. We usually prefer stays of 1–2 weeks, though longer stays can be wonderful if we all connect and the fit feels natural.
If our little mountain homestead calls to you, we’d love to hear from you. -

Accommodation
People will need to come with their own accommodation, eg, Van or tent.
We have a big tent and mattresses that we can set up if necessary but it is cold June-November to use this method of accommodation, but your choice.
You are welcome to use our bathroom and kitchen of course and other living areas in the house :)
We will provide lunch and dinner for you and can accomadate if you have any dietary requirements. You will need to have breakfast sorted for your self.
We personally eat everything. Yet, we are strictly ONLY ORGANIC in our house hold.
The meat we eat is either our own grown sheep, chickens or meat from neighbours cows, etc. Veggies are either grown here or by a local, organic farmer. -
