We are a family of four, myself, my husband and our two young boys living in a seaside suburb of north Auckland - a location that mixes city living with nature, there is something for everyone!

We love spending time outdoors and making the most of our beautiful coastal surroundings. As part of our family, you’ll join us for beach trips, and nature walks and daily family activities.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

By becoming part of our family, you’ll gain practical experience in childcare, everyday family life, and running a home in a supportive environment. If you enjoy home-cooked food or want to discover more about family-friendly Kiwi activities, we’re happy to share what we know. We’ll also introduce you to New Zealand culture, traditions, and local insights you might not find in a typical guidebook.

You will have plenty of down time during the week when you can enjoy visiting local sights community events and exploring the area with access to car for adventures further away.

What we hope to gain from hosting people from different cultures:
We genuinely enjoy connecting with people from all over the world and learning about different cultures, languages, and traditions. Welcoming a Workawayer into our home gives our family—especially our children—the chance to broaden our perspectives and appreciate different ways of living. We love hearing about your experiences, favourite foods, customs, and stories. It’s a special opportunity to form meaningful connections, create lasting friendships, and share in each other’s way of life.

I’m currently seeking a single Workaway traveler (no couples for now) who would love to take part in a cultural exchange as an au pair. You’d become part of our family while helping out with childcare, along with some light household tasks like cleaning and cooking. The schedule will vary, and in return you’ll be provided with accommodation, meals, use of a car, and the chance to explore our beautiful local beaches, nature spots, and the city.

If you enjoy spending time with children, like to stay active, and are excited about experiencing coastal New Zealand while joining a warm and lively family, we’d be happy to hear from you!

Being located on the coast, close to the city and countryside, the opportunities to explore are endless!

In the local area is a surf beach, two nature parks, and an indoor ski facility along with many cafes and shops.

As a family home with young children, we maintain a calm and respectful environment, so late nights and drinking aren’t part of our routine. However, you’re more than welcome to venture out and explore the area at your own pace!
