  • Description

    Hey there!

I am looking for a couple who can help manage a highly rated boutique on the beautiful shores of San Clemente/San Jacinto, which is about 45 minutes north of Manta. We are approaching busy season so need to bring on volunteers in July to train, to be ready for the holiday season in August.

Here are some of our requirements:

    Bilingual (Spanish/English)

Mature in age and in behavior

Self-starters who can look around and find a job to do, without being told what to do moment to moment
A willingness to do any chore required including cleaning up dog poop, re-varnishing a tabletop, helping to cook and serve breakfast, and cleaning rooms. You will also have times you just hang out and talk to our guests, making them feel welcome!

A willingness to work flexible hours, as the business demands. Full time + on weekends and more free time during the week. A couple may or may not be assigned to the same hours, but we will definitely make it work so you have time off together. You will be paid regular wages for any hours you work about the 25 required by workaway.

    A spirit of gratitude

A love of animals, (not like, LOVE) to help care for our gang of 3 dogs and 3 cats

    In exchange you will receive:

Your own home, including a living room, full kitchen, and a hot water shower. Also air conditioning, and a TV with Amazon prime and Netflix and of course wifi. None of your personal space will be shared with others, so there is lots of privacy. Its a great space for digital nomads.

A support team that includes a supervisor, cleaning staff, pool staff and a gardener, so you won't be on your own!

A beautiful area to lounge, including a second-story deck overlooking the ocean in your spare time. We also have great pool beds for use when we don't have guests.

$10 per day pay per couple for food which is more than plenty for groceries. You can earn bonuses, overtime, and tips as well.

Great surfing, fresh seafood, and friendly people both locals and people from other countries. Our village has about 250 ex-pats, either part-time or full-time!

I need a couple who will look at this position seriously and realize that they will be an integral part of the hotel operation, not just an extra hand. Hotel experience is preferred. Availability starts in late June or early July.

Will consider exceptionally qualified people traveling on their own, if you are open to sharing a cottage (separate beds), and work well as a team member. :-)

You will learn about life in a small authentic fishing village in Ecuador. You will meet many locals as well as expatriates and undoubtedly some great new friends We focus on the customer experience (check out our ratings) and so we can help you log some great hospitality experiences if that is in your future goals. You will learn about local cuisine, customs, and traditions and we encourage you to get involved with our greater community when you are not helping us out on the property!

The Cottages are located on a long sandy beach, in a rural fishing village in San Alejo, which is almost exactly half way between Manta and Bahia, in Manabi province. There are small family owned restaurants, and a couple of ex-pat hang outs, but not much more of a social scene, outside of the disco and street parties on the weekends, so if you are looking for the bright lights, and you don't mean the stars, this probably isn't for you. The village is very authentic, so your experience will not be just 'touristy'. This is a great opportunity for the right person/people, as you will have a lot of free reign and beautiful accommodations during your stay. Many lifelong friendships have been made here! We have a great community here (both local and expats), and you most likely will make friends quickly, and feel right at home in no time. Right now, we are also in need of an expert in social media who can update our webpage and social media. I really need people who can stay a couple of months, minimum. It's super difficult to change teammates every few weeks! Position includes a stipend for food, and the possibility of full time, permanent employment at better than average wages, bonuses, and tips :-)

There is lots to do in this beautiful fishing village from beach activities, to mountain biking, expat functions including poker nights, art classes, karaoke, sunday brunches, hanging out in our amazing pool or our second story deck with ocean views.

This is a great opportunity to integrate with the friendly local community and learn Spanish, Ecuadorian cooking, or about the amazing history and archeology in the area.

If you think you're a great fit, please let me know!
