We are a young couple with a dream to create a self sufficient eco horse and animal sactuary. We are now a registered charity
We want to rehabilitate as many horses as possible and offer eco holidays on our farm in a cave house or a mongolian yurt to fund the charity. Our passion is to rescue all the animals (so far. Pigs, dogs, cats, tortoises, Guinea pigs, rabbits, hedgehogs, chickens, goats, horses) we can.
We are passionate about sustainability as well, EVERYTHING is built from scrap and waste material. We eat "freegan" as all of our food comes from supermarket and farm waste. We are also on solar and our water systems are all sustainable too.
Our project is beautiful but hard work, we get the balance of working as a team to make it happen but enjoying the experience of back to basic living.

The fantastic all round weather of Tenerife, stay on a horse farm with fantastic views of the sea and the mountains. only 5 minutes from the sea. Be surrounded by rescue animals, nature and peace. The area is very quiet other than our big finca family, no tourists, great for walking, hiking and climbing, scuba diving/ snorkeling and horse riding
Currently we have over 30 volunteers ( 25 who have no plans to leave) so we have very limited space to take on more.
Due to the size of our project and the quick growth we have to be very organised (organised chaos we call it) with the people who come, each person has a specific role to relate to their skills/interests. Everyone must be animal lovers and support sustainable living to fit here happily.
We currently do not have a lot of available space. So we will list the skills we need below:
*Do you like to cook? If so we need your help immediately!
Would you like to work in the kitchen with some other volunteers preparing food for the volunteers and keeping the kitchen/ food donations organised? We need someone for this as soon as possible.
*We have space for someone with horse experience, no need to be an expert. Just comfortable handling horses. To do the evening feeds (Mon-fri) walk in hand some horses, ride occasionally. This role is ideal for someone who wants to stay for a longer period of time/ permanently for the right person.
*We also have space for drivers. Must be strong/ish (as it involves carrying lots of boxes) and over 25 with driving license.
*Someone with SEO and wordpress/website experience to help with google optimization and our website.
*Someone to help train a young horse. Must be very experienced with horses. Experience in r+/clicker training is a bonus but not essential. However calm and confident is.
*Do you speak fluent spanish and english, would you like to help us with translations? phone calls, emails, contacts and speaking to people. We need to connect with the locals and my spanish is horrible.
*Are you experienced with gardening/permaculture etc. Would you like to take over our gardens and help us grow it?
*Do you have experience with fundraising/ have great ideas how to grow our non profit. We would love your help!
we currently only have space only for the positions above.
But feel free to message us if you have and specific skills you think would be good for us to learn from.
Please note we are on the island of tenerife, not mainland Spain even though the map suggest we are there.
everywhere and anywhere, caravan, tent or unfinished cave house, cave, wooden hut, on the farm, you must be flexible with accommodation to stay here, as it in community living and very rustic with animals everwhere. Currently we have 25 people many of which have been here over a year, they have made themselves their own bedroom from a cave, this way we can fit more and more people. We have fantastic views and environment. We are like a big family so it has never been a problem so far. 😉😅
We are in a great location for buses. Only a few minutes to walk to the beach, some chances we can take the horses out riding . Always places to see in tenerife and the weather is always great
