    Description

We are Luca and Fafi, a queer and trans couple living on an off-grid olive farm in the foothills of the mountains of Tivissa, in southern Catalunya. We have 180 olive trees and three cats under our care. Our farm is in a gorgeous quiet spot, a 15 minute drive from the nearest village. We are part of a growing rural queer community in our area, and are especially happy to welcome other queers to stay with us on our land, whether you need a break from city life, are looking to connect with nature or are curious about living rurally yourself. As well as pruning and harvesting olive trees, we are also rebuilding a stone house, and one us is running a small restaurant and bar in the village.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are especially happy to connect with travelling queers and are interesested in building networks between (radical) queers living rurally in our region as well as internationally. We communicate in English but speak other languages such as French, German as well as some Spanish, and we are learning Catalan. The bar that Fafi and her family run in the village is a good way to experience village life and get to know the locals.

  • Help

    Help

We usually have various projects underway and are looking for help with pruning olive trees, planting fruit trees, building a raised bed for growing vegetables, as well various other DIY farm projects. We would mostly be doing tasks together with you, and are happy to share our knowledge about olive trees for example and are looking to learn more about permaculture from workawayers. There are also daily tasks on the farm which we would be happy to share such as chopping firewood, fetching drinking water from the village, and watering plants.

Since we neither sell produce nor offer spaces to paying guests, workawayers would not be helping with anything with a commercial element at our project. The intention is a skills and cultural exchange.

Shower: adjacent to the caravan is a shared outdoor hot shower and bath.

Food/cooking: we will provide a hot meal in the evening, or cook together/you can cook if you like to.
And we will provide food for communal or individual breakfast, lunch and snacking. We are omnivores, but can also cook vegetarian meals.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

If you are coming with your own car or caravan the access is an easy dirt road and we can offer places to park on the olive terraces. If you are coming without a car we can arrange to pick you up from the local bus or train station, with direct lines to Barcelona (about 2 hours away). Around our farm are many great hikes to go on, including some cool cave paintings to see and abandoned mountain mansions to discover. Amazing beaches are a 40 minute drive away, and there are mountain rivers to swim in 30 minutes away.
Anti-capitalist and anti-racist politics are important to us.
