Description
I and my husband have a cozy town house in Akureyri with a small garden were we grow vegetables during the summer. Nice outdoor area is close by. Downtown area is 30 minutes walk away and there is also a free bus in town.
We have two grown up children but in the house are now an old cat (15 years old) and a dog, boarder collie/icelandic mix (almost two years old). The dog, Blíða, is very active and playful and we would be thankful for help with keeping her happy.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are both musicians and there are lots of instruments around, piano, guitar and more. We love to travel and to learn about other cultures and languages. We would also help with learning Icelandic if this is preferred.

Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

Help
Taking care of Blíða the dog is what matters most. The cat Slæða is not very sociable but is diabetic and needs to have an injection every other day in order to be healthy. My husband takes care of this usually but when we go away someone who is not afraid of needles needs to do this.

Accommodation
Room with a bed 140x200, table and wardrobe.
We offer homecooked food seven days a week for everyone sharing our household. Workawayers are also welcome to cook if the like to. We like to sit down together as we eat and have conversation. We grow our own vegetables and use them as long as possible into the fall. Otherwise we eat everything and try to keep our food healthy and not processed. When we have workdays we often eat lunch at work. The fridge will be full of the food always and also money in a purse and a supermarket within walking distance.
What else ...
We love hiking, cykcling, crosscountry skiing and all kinds of outdoor activities.
