  My project involves carrying out educational and socially beneficial activities for children and young people through reinforcement and strengthening classes in English, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry; with the aim of providing academic support and including complementary outdoor activities such as surfing and horse riding with students from our town of Pacasmayo.
  
  Mi proyecto es la realización de actividades de carácter educativo y bien social, dirigidos hacia niños y jóvenes mediante clases de afianzamiento y fortalecimiento de estudios en materias de Inglés, Matemáticas, Física y Química; con el objetivo de brindar soporte académico e incluyendo actividades complementarias al aire libre como practicas de surf y monta de caballos con los estudiantes de nuestra localidad de Pacasmayo.

  Inspiration, Community, and Cultural Exchange: Social connection with our family, team, and community: In our project, you'll be one of the family. We believe that volunteering goes far beyond class time. To connect and enjoy ourselves together, we organize activities where you'll fully integrate with our family, the team, and the local people.
  • Bonfires and sunsets on the beach: Pacasmayo has some of the best sunsets in Peru. We love gathering at the end of the day by the sea to chat and relax.
  • Weekend family lunches: We'll share the table to enjoy northern Peruvian cuisine, where you'll learn how to prepare authentic ceviche or a delicious northern-style goat stew.
  • Community events: You'll participate in beach cleanups we organize with the children, local surf competitions, and community fairs, allowing you to experience firsthand the warmth and daily life of the people of Pacasmayo. Skills and knowledge we'll share with you: We want you to take away unforgettable tools and experiences that will last a lifetime. Our team is ready to teach you:
  • Horseback Riding: If you love animals, we'll teach you about horse care, feeding, and basic riding techniques used in our region of northern Peru.
  • Surf Culture: Pacasmayo is a paradise of wind and waves (one of the longest surfable waves in the world). We'll share our knowledge of reading waves and currents, ocean safety, and surfing techniques.
  • Spanish Immersion: Forget boring grammar lessons. We'll help you improve your conversational Spanish naturally through everyday interactions, sharing local slang and Peruvian expressions. What we hope to learn from you when you host us: For us and for the children, every Workaway is an open window to the world.

  • Fogatas y puestas de sol en la playa: Pacasmayo tiene de los mejores atardeceres del Perú. Nos encanta reunirnos al final del día frente al mar para conversar y relajarnos.
  • Almuerzos familiares de fin de semana: Compartiremos la mesa para disfrutar de la gastronomía norteña, donde aprenderás la preparación del auténtico ceviche o un buen cabrito a la norteña.
  • Eventos comunitarios: Participarás en las limpiezas de playa que organizamos con los niños, campeonatos locales de surf y ferias de la comunidad, lo que te permitirá conocer de cerca la calidez y el día a día de los Pacasmayinos.

  • Cultura del Surf: Pacasmayo es un paraíso del viento y las olas (una de las olas navegables más largas del mundo). Compartiremos contigo conocimientos sobre la lectura de las olas, corrientes, seguridad en el mar y técnicas de surf.
  • Inmersión en Español: Olvídate de las clases aburridas de gramática. Te ayudaremos a mejorar tu español conversacional de forma natural en el día a día, compartiendo jergas locales y expresiones peruanas.

  We are looking for young, energetic, and patient native or bilingual English speakers from other countries, eager to make a real impact. Your main mission will be to provide academic support and dynamic English classes to underprivileged children and teenagers in our community. We want learning to be fun, practical, and conversation-focused, opening doors to a future in science and local tourism.
  
  What will Workawayers do?
  
  • Teach English classes to children and teenagers, facilitating English conversation workshops. These will include games, songs, and activities based on daily themes.
  • Help students reinforce their learning and overcome their fear of speaking English.
  • Participate in outdoor activities, accompanying and supporting the logistics of surfing and horseback riding sessions. • Participate in cultural exchange by sharing traditions, stories, and games from your home country with the young students. We will work on projects together! We firmly believe in two-way learning. We'll work as a close-knit team. While you share your English and global perspective with the children, we'll share local life in Pacasmayo with you. We'll share daily experiences and learn from each other:
  • Language exchange: We'll help you practice and improve your Spanish in real-world settings.
  • Passion for the sea and the land: We'll share our knowledge of the ocean, surfing, and nature with you.
  • Culture and cuisine: We'll cook together, share meals, and show you the warmth of the Peruvian community. If you're passionate about education, love the sea and nature, and want a volunteer experience with a profound purpose, this is the place for you!
  
  Buscamos jóvenes extranjeros nativos o bilingües en inglés, con mucha energía y paciencia; con ganas de generar un impacto real. Tu misión principal será brindar soporte académico y clases dinámicas de inglés a niños y jóvenes de bajos recursos de nuestra localidad. Queremos que el aprendizaje sea divertido, práctico y enfocado en la conversación, abriéndoles puertas hacia el futuro en ciencias y el turismo local.

  • Ayudar a los estudiantes a reforzar sus aprendizaje y perder el miedo a hablar el nuevo idioma de ingles.
  • Participar en actividades al aire libre, acompañar y apoyar en la logística de las sesiones de surf y monta de caballo.
  • Participar en el intercambio cultural compartiendo tradiciones, historias y juegos de tu país de origen, con los jóvenes estudiantes.

  Your Home in Pacasmayo. For us, your well-being comes first. We guarantee a completely clean, safe, and comfortable space so you can fully relax after an energetic day with the children, the sea, and some camping.
  
  What is the accommodation like? We offer two options for your stay in our city of Pacasmayo:
  
  Option 1: A cozy space within our property, located in a safe area of Pacasmayo with controlled access:
  
  • Bright and clean room. It has a comfortable bed, clean sheets, and space to store your belongings.
  • Included services: You will have access to a kitchen, shared bathroom (family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 children); shower, drinking water, and a stable Wi-Fi connection so you can communicate with your family or work on your personal projects.
  
  Option 2: A room with a single bed in a hostel near our property in the city center.
  
  How will meals work? The exchange includes 3 meals a day (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner) 7 days a week.
  
  • You'll enjoy fresh, nutritious, local homemade food. For breakfast and dinner, we provide the necessary ingredients in the shared kitchen so you can prepare whatever you like.
  
  • The shared kitchen will be fully available with basic utensils if you wish to prepare your own meals, or you can explore the local restaurants in Pacasmayo.
  • Special Diets: If you are vegetarian, vegan, or have any food allergies, just let us know in advance. We'll gladly accommodate you so you can eat delicious and healthy meals. Workaway Stay Summary *Safety: 100% secure environment; private property in a quiet area of Pacasmayo.

  • La cocina compartida estará totalmente a tu disposición con los utensilios básicos si deseas preparar tus propios alimentos, o puedes salir a explorar los restaurantes locales de Pacasmayo.

On your days off or after your volunteer hours, you can: • Extreme water sports: If you love surfing, windsurfing, or kitesurfing, this is one of the best places in the world due to its consistent winds. • Explore the Boardwalk and Pier: Stroll along Pacasmayo's historic pier (one of the longest in the country), admire the Republican-era architecture, and relax with a good coffee overlooking the sea. • Archaeological tourism: Less than an hour away, you can visit San José de Moro or the El Brujo archaeological complex (home of the Lady of Cao) to immerse yourself in the ancient Moche culture. • Travel to nearby cities: On weekends, you can take a bus to Chiclayo or Trujillo (about 2 hours away) to explore local markets, museums, and larger urban centers.
