    Description

We live on a unique off-grid island called Lasqueti. Lasqueti is known for quickly grabbing its place in people's hearts, as it did ours when we first arrived. It's hard to fully let go of Lasqueti once you've experienced it. And now, after living here for over a decade, we have the pleasure of owning a chunk of land with some wonderful friends. With the decision to buy land, naturally we needed to have a bunch of kids to be running around on the land. Now we have our house built (mostly) and a big garden and three kids aged 8 months, 4 and 6 years. Life is full and wonderful. Amongst all of the beauty are many projects that we hope to complete and help is always welcome.

we are a. family of five, living on an off grid island , the roads are unpaved, the trees are large, the beaches are full of life, nature here is awe inspiring.

we share ownership of 40 acres of land with another family who we are close with, we have a very big garden and endless other projects that we could use a hand with.

while sean is primarily a carpenter and carly was a nurse before becoming a full time mother of three, we having chosen a lifestyle where we figure out how to do most the stuff ourselves, be it building, falling trees, running a sawmill/excavator or dump truck to gardening, wild crafting, and all the other skills that you pick up while homesteading.

we value creativity, be it writing, movies, books, music, visual arts or dancing. we value being close to nature. We chose to build our home with earthen materials and have grown to love working with clay based plasters and other earthen mixes used for wall infills and floors.

sean and carly both had positive and transformative experiences with travelling before settling down and enjoy spending time and connecting with people from other cultures and countries.

    What else ...

Our island home is pretty quiet but there is a pub and a cafe if you feel like you going out on the town. There are many beaches nearby to explore and swim at as well bicycles and kayaks you can borrow to go exploring.

In the summer there is a weekly market where you can get fresh baked goods, veggies and milk shakes! There are many other events from art shows to musical concerts going on throughout the year.

We love ultimate frisbee and play twice a week followed by a sauna.
