    Description

I love our 3 acre property because there is always something to create. We are a close walk to the lake and a small community with one store and a bakery and just a few little locally minded stores. There are two weekly community markets and our own farm market.
I am a healthy 7 time cancer survivor and love to give back to the world. I am honest, compassionate but also sensitive. I have a husband and two adult children whom I adore.
My dream is to make yoga platforms and build gardens. I want to make our property more sustainable. We have a lot of apple trees (2700) and 800 lavender plants and will plant 150 peach trees in the spring, I also want to build a fence so that the new trees survive! I love to repurpose wood to make things so I hope to have help to make platforms for yoga or just sitting using innovative ideas. I also want to build garden beds in the same way. Lots of fun to be had on an orchard!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

When I was younger I travelled the world and loved to meet new people and have different experiences. I think that our small community is an amazing place to meet people and see new things. There is a weekly community market and a beautiful lake where people gather. I think I can share some knowledge of farming and just stories about the many things that I have learned along the way. My dream for this property has always been to share this beautiful area and maybe help someone be able to make some lasting memories on our farm.

    Help

I would love to build garden beds and yoga or sitting platforms. I also just want to work together to make our big orchard into a more beautiful place to be and for many people from many different lands to come enjoy the peacefulness. I can always use help in the lavender field or watering plants. Perhaps building platforms or an animal fence together or even creating an outdoor pizza oven! I have lots of ideas but none that have to be done (except the fence and planting some trees). I think that Naramata is an absolutely beautiful, peaceful place to come work and stay.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

I have a self contained trailer at the bottom of our property. It has a double bed and also two bunk beds. It does have an interior kitchen but the bathroom facilities are outside (outhouse) and sink. There is running water in trailer for drinking and washing dishes. I hope to work together to build a beautiful outdoor kitchen as well. There is a covered lavender shed to have a shaded area to sit and will build a nice fie pit area in the future for evening relax time. This is an independent living area. I will be at the top of the property in the family home. There is a lot of room to feel connected yet independent.

For me, ideally the guests would enjoy their breakfast and lunch on their own time, unless we are working together and I stop for lunch, then I would welcome them to join. I work very hard working early until late but I am a social person so I can easily adjust to enjoy meals at the same time. I would provide breakfast items and food that they could make for lunches as well. I think that because Naramata is such a beautiful place that most people who come and stay to help me on the farm enjoy going to relax at the beach and enjoy their dinners there where it is cooler. I acknowledge that I can provide ingredients and or meals in exchange for help. I run a cafe in the winter in Whistler so I enjoy baking and creating good food.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There is so much to do. We have world class mountain biking and hiking trails right at the doorstep. There is a lake to swim and boat or ski. There are 40 wineries within a short distance as we are in a wine growing area. I am an active healthy minded person. I love to be active. I would want people who are here to enjoy peacefulness and embrace the wonders of this area. I also need guests to be quiet at night as where the trailer is located it is like an ampitheatre (sound travels easily).

I am not sure that a digital nomad is but I have internet at the top of the property but none where the trailer is located.

    Space for parking camper vans

The property has a small narrow roadway that I just had bulit last year. It is at the bottom of the property and is flat with water but no internet or electricity. It is where our trailer is located. Currently best to be 25 feet or less for ease of entry but I am working on making the access easier. We are more than open to hosting you and your campervan.

    Can possibly accept pets

I am open to accepting pets but only if you have your own sleeping accommodation. I need to keep our trailer pet free for people who have allergies. Also, the pet will have to be well behaved and quiet as the bottom of the property is a natural amphitheater. I would request photos and dogs history.
