    Description

We are a German-Nicaraguan family of five living together with our four-legged family members, volunteers, and guests in a peaceful and quiet mountain setting surrounded by nature.

Over the years, we have built three houses on our farm and love creating with a variety of materials such as bamboo, wood, cement, recycled glass bottles, and old tires. More and more, we are moving toward natural and sustainable building techniques.

Our farm is home to many fruit trees, medicinal herbs, and vegetable gardens. We are passionate about permaculture, and all our gardens are organically managed, with many plants self-seeding and thriving naturally. We grow bananas, coffee, avocados, mandarins, tomatoes, sweet peppers, a wide variety of herbs, and much more.

We also share our farm with many animals, including chickens, cows, cats, dogs, and horses.

The horses are the foundation of our livelihood. For those interested in natural horsemanship and the Classical Art of Riding, there are opportunities to experience life on our beautiful eco-farm and learn more about our philosophy and training methods.

Please note that volunteering does not include free riding lessons or riding privileges. We also offer a separate horse internship program for applicants with a solid horse background. This internship requires a minimum stay of three months and provides a deeper immersion into horse care, training, and management.

We are located on the mountainside above the small rural town of Tucurrique. The town can be reached within approximately 30 minutes on foot or by taxi for about 3,000 colones.
