Description
Two Workawayers to share accommodation
We are a retired couple living on a 20 acre lifestyle block in the beautiful area of Waipu. Along with our miniature Schnauzer,Stanley, we have a small herd of cows.
A couple of years ago we moved from our small but very functional cabin on our property into our new house. We have a large swimming pool available for volunteers to enjoy with stunning views from the pool and almost everywhere else. Accommodation is in the cabin with meals provided by us.
We are located 9kms (10 minute drive) from Waipu village so transport would be required or a pick up from Waipu could be arranged. The peace and tranquility of our location makes the drive up worth every minute. At night we listen to the kiwi just metres from our house in the native bush. Visitors can enjoy a walk through this bush during the day and at night when the glowworms are twinkling in the gully.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are very happy to spend time showing travellers our land and lifestyle and share experiences on the property including animal management. As previous owners of a country hotel in Northland we are experienced hosts with good knowledge of Northland and a lot of other parts of New Zealand. Also, having travelled extensively ourselves we know how enjoyable it can be as a traveller to spend time with people in their own environment and experience and learn about life as a local.

We highly recommend Carole and Graham as workawayers. Fun people, very, very capable and we appreciate their hard work and fab results in the garden. Not afraid of a bit of weather either 🤗.
