    Description

    Hi there!

My name is Eva, half Colombian, half Belgian. I studied art in Ghent.
I just turned 49 and live with my happy dog Boeddha.

Living near the beautiful city of Kortrijk, surrounded by gorgeous ancient churches, parks and a brand new contemporary art museum called Abby. I live just outside the city in a town with its own trainstation. My ground floor two bedroom appartment sit's right in front of a pond filled with ducks, geese, herons, frogs... a small ecosystem to enjoy all day long. Slow and easygoing pace here.

Meanwhile I'm working on a monumental art project of mine. Working on prototypes or graphic drawings. Currently also in the process of writing a book.

I like going for a swim sometimes at a sportscenter nearby, enjoy the regular sauna there too. I try to take care of my body as best as I can.
My cooking is mainly Whole Food Plant Based, for those who are not familiar, it's the healthy vegan options I love most.

Where I go my dog goes. Usually my car does too. Also love walking and riding my bike, if my pretty little legs agree. My cathedral of a body decided to stop growing when it hit 120 cm and
I deal with physical pain on a daily basis. I easily get tired because of that.
So feeling good and healthy is my main priority.

I speak Dutch, but know my way around some Spanish, French, and English. Studied some Japanese too (15 years ago) because I travelled to Tokyo by myself for a month. Big fan of Japan.
Paris is only a 2.30 hour drive. Brussels an hour. Ghent half hour. Bruges 45 minutes.
Trainstation is a 5 minute walk from my house.
There are bikes you can rent. Check out Li.me app.
    Electrical Steps also.

My interest goes to female workawayers who have put in an effort to write a good profile and took the time to read mine.
Please take the time to write a personal request if you want me to be your host. Unless I contacted you :)
Before applying, best to check my calender to see if I am available.

+++Being FLUENT in either English, French, Spanish or Dutch is a REQUIREMENT. As in properly speaking full clear sentences. Communication is a big part of being helpful around here and a necessity for me to receive the adequate support with my disability.+++

    1. I studied art so I can offer an afternoon of drawing with a lighttable. I would be teaching you how to draw with this method. It really is for anyone :)

    2. I studied several vegetarian cookingstyles. Also get lots of my inspiration from Macrobiotics, Japanese, Colombian, Mexican, Italian, Whole Food Plant Based...al sorts of styles... Things my body and tastebuds agree upon. I love to create healthy dishes that are packed full of flavour. So ask if your interested.

    3. As a practitioner of the Wim Hof breating method I sometimes invite people over to guide the small group with an hour long session. You are welcome to join in if interested. With my daily breathing session or the guided long one.
    Ice bath optional too :)

    Help

    So...
Helpfull positive people are welcome, and what follows is the main priority for now. I'm looking for female workawayers, that can help me around the house with the daily maintanance and occasional handywork. (Sorry to the beautiful men out there but I'm just more at ease with women in my house at the moment.)
I would love some help with the things I can't physically do by myself.

Working hours are to be agreed upon before arrival, by the both of us. Also think about what you would like me to offer you, besides staying at my house. Clarity about that is nice.
Therefore, a video call would be a requirement before I agree upon your stay.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

My appartment is small, two bedroom-one bathroom. I have a folding bed in my spare room for you. The room is where I draw and do my art, my creative workspace. There is also a workdesk in there and printer you can use. We would be using the same spaces in the appartment. Workawayers travelling with their campers also very welcome. Good Wifi available. The kitchen is there for you to cook your meals,I have a big fridge and also a freezer. The livingroom you can hang out in, in summertime the terrace has a hammock and table and two chairs. The one bathroom with shower is shared offcourse. Washer and dryer also at your disposal. If you travel by car, plenty of parking space on the street near the appartment.
Ah, before I forget. No drinking or other substances here. Plenty of tea and coffee. Smokers will be asked to go out for a walk with Boeddha :)

  • What else ...

    What else ...

I work from home and it's easy to make myself available if needed.
If you want to explore further, like the beautiful Flemish Fields, a bike would come in handy.
Bike rental at the trainstation available with electrical support system by Li.me, check their app.

Kortrijk is a small city with lot's of of historic architecture. Very nice to walk through, explore by bike, and even by boat. Art and design are also a thing here.
There is a climbing facility nearby.
The public pool Lago Weide has a sauna and hamam.
A big Expo complex that hosts big events like the design fair of Europe: "Interieur".
Lots of nice places to go to that I can show you once I know your interests.

Ghent is 30minutes away. So is Lille, in France. I live 15min from the border :)
Brussels is an hour away. So is Antwerp. So is Bruges...
Belguim is small, everything is easy accessable. :)
