    Description

    We are Thibaut & Hanna and we are running a permaculture project in a spiritual community situated in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes.
    Thibaut is a 35 years old biologist and a secondary school science teacher specialized permaculture & self-sufficient community farming. Hanna is a 30 years old nurse, ayurvedic practitioner and specialized in medicinal and wild plants and craftmanships.

    >>> If you want to:

    - Learn, deepen or put into practice your knowledge of permaculture/organic farming
    - Experience a spiritual community lifestyle in harmony with nature that aims to achieve self-sufficiency in the upcoming years,
    - Practice yoga in its various forms and explore its most authentic origins (bhakti yoga)
    - Live daily on love and fresh water, service and happiness, music and healthy vegetarian and indian meals.

    >>> And that you're willing, in exchange, to..:

    - Help in the garden 5 hours a day, 5 days a week in exchange for accommodation and hearty vegetarian meals.

    Then you've got to come and try the experience!

    This is a mix of permaculture and bhakti-yoga.
    It's a new form of ecological agriculture rooted in Vedic principles such as compassion, service, self-awareness, meditation and respect for all living beings. The project started 4 years ago and is part of the spiritual community in the Ardennes. It is a spiritual community of around a hundred people (from dozens of different countries; we speak over 10 different languages) who live according to Vedic principles (as set out above) and is aiming to reach self-sufficiency in the upcoming years (via the project). Here we practice a way of life in harmony with nature and in reconnection with our true self. We are an "asbl" (non-profit-making organization).

    >>> Simple rules:

    - No consumption of meat, eggs, fish or intoxicants of any kind (alcohol, cigarettes).
    - No noise after 10pm
    - Respect for others and community life
    - Respect for the work, the permaculture project and the rules in place.

    >>> Extras:

    I personally can pick you up at Barvaux station when you arrive and leave. For any additional transport, it's often easy to organise it as there are many community members (including myself) with a car and happy to share their journey with you. Otherwise there might also be a possibility to rent the community car for a day.

    - We are situated in the Belgium Ardennes. It's a region of extensive forests expanding from France to Luxembourg, Belgium and Germany. The community is a 48 hectares plot of land and includes a lot of forests, as well as a beautiful 40min promenade "The bhagavad gita walk" among them. Many possibilities for hiking and cycling around!

    - The community hosts a lot of different activities including daily indian traditional music meditation sessions, spiritual program, yoga and spiritual ceremonies. Every saturday, we go to a different city in Belgium and perform some music in the streets. There are more than 20 festivals (Holy festival, Krishna's birthday...) organised in a year. There are also other activities like football, volleyball and so on. There is a bakery, a boutique, a library, a restaurant and a stable with 3 beautiful cows (giving some milk), a calf and 3 amazing oxen.

    - Shopping and any city life facilities are possible in one of the nearest city: Marche-en-Famenne, Durbuy, Barvaux...

    - Durbuy is a historical and medieval beautiful city situated 10min away from us.

    - In summer, we often go in Esch-sur-Sûre to swim and relax. It's a beautiful clearwater lake situated 1h away from us with beaches, cliffs and forests around.

    - Other activities around us includes: Durbuy Adventure valley, Les grottes de Han, Le tombeau du Géant, Les ménirs de Wéris...

    Send us a message if you're interested in the experience :)
