We are operate all thought the year ,
hotel and kitesurfing school set on a spacious 2.5-acre property. Our dedicated team of 6 full time time staff and two part time members.
manage everything from the kitchen and restaurant to the garden, pool, and more, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all guests, whether it’s peak season or off-season

In the beautiful Kalpitiya Lagoon, visitors can learn kitesurfing, try eco-friendly activities, and cook real Sri Lankan food with hands-on lessons. They can also meet local people, help with small nature projects, and go kayaking on the calm water. By mixing adventure with learning about the culture, travelers get to enjoy Sri Lanka’s natural beauty and go home with new skills, new friends, and memories they will never forget.

Our kitesurfing seasons run mid-Dec to end-March and mid-May to late-Sept (sometimes October). Off-season is quieter, but volunteers can still support creative or sustainability work.
All volunteers help with our eco projects like beach cleaning and waste reduction. Your main tasks depend on your skills. Roles include:
• Digital Marketing & Social Media: content creation, Reels, captions, storytelling.
• Video Creation: short-form video, editing, visual storytelling.
• Wall Art / Murals: design and paint artwork around the resort.
• Sustainability Projects: mangrove work, waste sorting, greenhouse building, eco SOPs.
• Yoga Teacher: Dec to March only.
• Garden & Landscape: help shape our outdoor spaces.
Kitesurfing: Lessons are not included, but long-stay volunteers (4+ weeks) get discounted rates after the first 2 weeks.
When you arrive, we’ll discuss your tasks together. You’ll report progress to me or the manager.
Priority:
• Previous Workaway experience is an advantage.
• Skilled social media creators or videographers are given priority.
• Minimum stay is 2 week; longer stays preferred.
• Couples must take different roles (only one can do marketing).

Immerse in the Fishing Community: We border a traditional fishing village where you can experience the daily life of local fishermen. Depending on the season, join a fisherman to catch crab, prawns, or fish in the traditional way.
Explore Nature and Wildlife: Visit Wilpattu National Park, a breathtaking sanctuary just 30 minutes away by boat, to see incredible wildlife up close.
Cultural Visits: Discover nearby places of worship, including temples, Hindu temples, mosques, and churches. You’ll also have the chance to visit rural schools, hospitals, local markets, and the historic fort, offering a deeper understanding of the community’s heritage.
Outdoor Adventures: Explore the area by foot, kayak, or bicycle. For a more extensive journey, travel by bus or tuk-tuk to discover even more of the region.
Engage in Local Activities: Play netball with locals, take a short 2 km walk to the nearest town, or enjoy a beach visit using our bicycles.
Resort Amenities: Enjoy kayaking, a refreshing swimming pool, and relaxation within our peaceful setting.

My job was to photograph the many rooms and the resort.
It was pretty quiet as out of season but the staff are really friendly , a couple of other volunteers that were great too.
