    Description

We are a family of 4, Louise 37, from Denmark, Robert, 38 from Austria, Philip 4, and Lina 3.

Come and join us at our lovely place in Austrian Südburgenland. We live at the edge of a little village in a house with a big garden and lots to do. We moved here two years ago, and try to make it suit our needs. Mostly that means making the garden bigger every year, building raised beets and planting trees and bushes, last year we constructed a greenhouse, mostly from scrap material, which needs some finishing touches.
We also have some forest to make firewood, but we also use it for the kids to play or to simply escape the heat.

Before we were hosting, we were helpers ourselves, we travelled a lot and tried a lot of things, until we decided to move to France. There we bought a house, started a renovation project, gave birth to our kids, almost finished our project, before we decided to start over completely and moved to Austria. We wanted to raise our kids in the countryside, away from noise and pollution, as close to nature as possible.

Now we would like some help, mostly with outdoor projects, but also with general maintenance indoors.
We basically welcome everyone who is ready to get his hands dirty and has a positive attitude!

We raise our kids bilingual, German and Danish and speak English to each other, so whatever language you speak, we will make it work somehow :)

We are happy to introduce you to Austrian and Danish customs and meals, as we pick our favourites from both countries :)

If you happen to learn danish, german or english, we will be very happy to help you, as we speak all those languages at home.

You can learn some things about gardening, how to use (power)tools, cutting down trees, and everything we forgot to mention ;)

We have a big garden, there is always a lot to do. i.e. mowing the lawn, weeding, collecting slugs, strimming, chopping firewood, building raised beets, gathering horse manure, preparing a chicken coop and much more..

There are also some light renovation works indoors plus cleaning, helping in the household, cooking, whatever is needed that day.

    Accommodation

On the pictures in the description you can see the bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, etc you have at your disposal. It is upstairs, were we rarely go, so you mostly have your own space and of course a private bedroom. you are of course welcome to join us downstairs whenever you like!

We provide delicious homecooked meals, and would also like you to cook sometimes, so we can all share the work and maybe get to know something new.
We can provide vegan meals, since Louise eats vegan herself a lot of the time, but mind that it is not a vegan household, you have to be ok with others eating meat.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There are some local sights to see, castles, thermal spas, wineries, biking routes, etc.. We want you to enjoy your time off and hope to show you some local customs.

The little forest behind the house invites to explore, or try to see some of our countless animal neighbours.

Sometimes we light a bonfire, grill some sausages (or vegetables) and enjoy the evening!
