*️️️️️️️️️️️Come join us and become a part of the family in Marseille! *️️️️️️️️️️️

Hi I'm Lua (28) married to Pierre (29), we have two daughters Lélé short for Clélia ( will be 4 end of march) and Emma short for Emmanuelle ( who is 2,5 ) , and a son Théophile (10 months old) as well as our cat Cacou. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment and need some help. I'm feeling like I don't have enough time and energy to both provide our children with the kind of education I want as well as maintaing a nice home, preparing meals etc. So I need some help.

    .
We used to love hiking and exploring but as our kids are so small we have slowed down in order to fully enjoy the simple yet wonderful pleasures of family life. We travelled Europe for a year with our daughters and two backpacks and did some workaway with them. We loved the experience but had to come back to France for financial reasons, untill we find a way to make our dreams come true. So we have decided to trade the guest title to become hosts this time!
    .
    .
Pierre is working as an ingineer and I take care of the children whom are homeschooled. We love to be able to meet with other travelling folks and share about both our journeys as we miss so much that aspect of traveling !

Marseille is a lively city by the sea in the south of France, there is lots to see and do if you are independent ans likes discovering new things. We live next to the a nice park and you can take the bus to the beach. It's perfect also for someone willing to learn French.

My husband and I are both French and we would love to help you with your French. I am highly passionnate about childhood education ( although I have a Masters degree in business ) and my husband is a nature lover. We would very much enjoy sharing all we know about French culture, our own experiences etc.
    .
    .
We read a LOT of books with the girls so if you're trying to improve your French you will progress very quickly I am sure. Also as you'll have all afternoons free you can go exploring the city on your own, but we can also help you if you'd like to follow French lessons or get enrolled in any type of classes.

    Help

I need help with both the house and the kids. During the week I am alone with the kids at home so I expect help for vaccuming, cleaning the floors, tidying up toys, a bit of cleaning etc. We are looking for someone that loves spending time with children, to talk to them in English and just have fun in general, someone who is creative and is willing to make suggestions about manual activities to do together etc. Ideally someone who has a hobby of dancing or music.

We follow a daily rythm that looks a bit like this :

    8:00 waking up then breakfast
9:00 getting dressed and reading books, then free play until lunch time
    11:30 lunch time
    12:30 reading time
    13:30 nap time
16:00 play time, going to the park
    17:30 bath time
    18:30 dinner
    20:00 bedtime

I am looking for help during the mornings, someone to help with the cleaning then playing with the kids so I can have some down time as I'm feeling a bit burnt out at the moment. The afternoons will be free as well as weekends so you have time to explore on your own. But of course this can be changed for another arrangement that suits everyone better.

I am a very DIY person and love doing crafts and such, so if you like that too we could both exchange a lot I think.
If you are passionnate about dance, or drawing, or music etc. it would be delightful for the girls to be able to learn from you!

The work itself will be quite easy but you need to be able to analyse the situation and see where help is needed as micromanaging takes me a lot of energy. You must have some experience with young children so you are prepared because they can be loud, they can be overly excited etc. and this can be very tiring and intense so please keep this in mind. ( but obviously they are also full of joy, life lessons to teach us, and so much laughter)

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We live simply in a flat. We welcome you in our house as a friend and hope you feel like one. You will have a very simple room which is the girls room but they will be sleeping in our room during your stay . The space is not very big but full to the brim with love.
    .
We would love for you to eat the three main meals of the day with us, but if you'd prefer to go out for dinner on your own sometimes then it's fine with us ( as long as you come back before 11). As written above breakfast is at 8:30, lunch time is at 11:30 and dinner at 18:30.
    .
We eat vegan but if you'd like to try have a few non-vegan (but still vegeterian) things in the fridge that you bought on your own it's ok with us, we just ask that you don't eat them in front of the children.
    .
We need someone who can also give us some privacy and family time so you need to be someone who wants to also do things on your own on your free time otherwise it disrupts our family dynamic a bit too much.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We aim to be gentle / respectful parents, so we don't spank, don't punish, and try our best not to scream etc. We ask the same of you. We try to foster an open and respectful communication between all members of the family.
    .
We are looking only for girls, must be over 18 for legal reasons, and non-smokers. Must love children.
    .
We don't own a car thus we can't come and pick you up per say, but can arrange to come by public transportation to help you get to our place. Also because we don't have a car we can't take you exploring the surroundings so much so it's preferable that you are independent and enjoy exploring and travelling on your own or that you are happy to stay put and enjoy family life at home with us.
    .
We don't own a TV so in our free time we usually read books, chat together, walk in parks, do manual projects etc.
    .
Warning : if you enjoy partying a lot I don't think this will suit you. We are very laidback and wish for someone willing to be like part of the family and spend time talking together, listening to music, reading books, someone laidback.
