    Description

Hi, my name is Massimo and I'm from Trieste, Italy. I'm a quiet, joking man. I'm open-minded. I'm a friend to everyone; I don't discriminate based on race, religion, gender, or anything else. Everyone is my friend.

I love being surrounded by nature. My family and I have a small plot of land, my paradise, on the hills of Trieste, which we're slowly developing with the help of my friends in their spare time. Since my father became ill and I've been working outside the city, however, we're no longer able to tend the land as we'd like, and we need help—a cheerful, friendly, open-minded volunteer who loves the outdoors—in short, a positive person. If anyone would like to help us fix the walls, paint the wooden posts, cultivate the soil, care for the plants, or set up a new irrigation system, they're welcome. All this in a truly relaxing environment, with no set schedules.
If it rains, it would be great if you could help me care for the parrots, cleaning their cages, petting them, playing with them, and making wooden toys for them.

I can't wait to meet you!

PS: Please! If you visit me, please buy a large flag of your country so we can take lots of photos together as a souvenir. I'll obviously refund you the money for the flag; I'd love for it to be a fond memory of you for the future.

I can teach you to live in the countryside and to work the land.
I can teach you to know my city, its customs, the peculiarity of a border city where races, religions and political ideologies mix. Have you ever visited Trieste? This is my city! Now Central European and Italian but with Roman origins and for 700 years under the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In my city coexist Austrian Slovenian Greek Serbian German Russian ethnic groups and other minorities. There are all religions and all coexist peacefully. This is Trieste, small and big at the same time. Where do you come to visit it and you fall in love with it and would like to live there. Even the Bora, the sea, the Karst ... make you love Trieste because it is a unique city on the border, on the edge but at the same time in the center of Europe. where sooner or later you pass ... and something hits you.

  • Help

    Help

The guests will help with me and other volunteers with tasks. Sometimes a few of my locals friends help out. The tasks include:
    - build a chicken coop for the chickens
    - build a greenhouse
    - build paths under the pergolas for my grapes, kiwis, roses, wisteria.
    - cut trees and clean the grass
    - prune the roses and trees
    - clean the ground from stones
    - build dry stone walls
    - move of the earth

If it rains, it would be great if you could help me care for the parrots, cleaning their cages, petting them, playing with them, and making wooden toys for them.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

I host guests in my apartment on the outskirts of Trieste, in the Roiano area, near the beaches of Barcola and the train and bus stations. My olive grove and vineyards are nestled in the hills behind my house, just 1 km from the house, offering breathtaking views immersed in the silence of the wild nature. The 5,000 square meter plot is spread over several levels, with secret corners and yet to be developed. My apartment is close to all amenities, including a supermarket, a school, a parking lot, a post office, the train and bus station, and buses with connections to the city center (just 10 minutes away) and the beaches (just 15 minutes away). I can also provide three bicycles if you like. I live in my apartment with my two large parrots, who are as noisy as children but very sociable and fun. So, if you're looking for a secluded mountain retreat, this isn't for you. In my home, new friendships are made and the world is connected. I often host people traveling through Couchsurfing, Couchers, other sites, bewelcome, and oh! naturist. Over the years, I've hosted over 500 guests in my home, providing wonderful experiences and building new friendships. I have nine separate beds in my home, but for Workaway guests, I can only provide one separate room with two separate beds (as required by Workaway rules). Therefore, I can only host two workers at a time.
We share some spaces, such as the kitchen, bathroom, and living room, and the atmosphere is very pleasant and welcoming.
I can offer room and board for a limited time in exchange for your help; I will be forever grateful.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

At my place, you can feel comfortable and be yourself, feeling at home, but always respecting other guests. I occasionally host travelers from other platforms like Couchsurfing, BeWelcome, Warmashower, and Oh! Naturist, and there are many of us at home, but this will allow you to make new friends and acquaintances. My place has a cheerful and festive atmosphere, yet also relaxing and peaceful. Even though I live in an apartment, you can always use my 5,000-square-meter plot of land whenever you want to relax. At my place, you'll see the whole world arrive. Every day someone arrives and someone leaves. I'm an open-minded person and I don't discriminate based on race, gender, color, religion, or political opinions. On the contrary, discussions help stimulate one's inner self and encourage dialogue.
I do not accept videos or photos taken without my guests' knowledge or intended to denigrate anyone or my place. In such cases, I will contact the relevant authorities. If you want to feel comfortable, you can work in the fields or relax at home, naked or semi-naked, or in any other clothing you prefer, always asking and respecting the other guests.
If you want to bring your art, music, writing, sculpture, painting, or anything else: you are welcome. It would be wonderful if you could teach me and my guests something, too.
Please also respect my parrots and the animals in the fields, which will surely entertain you and leave an indelible mark on your experience at my home.
I recommend visiting the beautiful beaches, the trails of the Karst, the ancient monuments of my city, and the caves near my home in Trieste, not only in Trieste but also in Slovenia, Croatia, and the Veneto.
If you want to taste the typical products of my region, ask me for information; we can go together to an Osmiza, a pizzeria, or an Osteria. My dream is to open a dairy farm in the countryside and produce cheese. Don't forget that I'm a farmer, but I need encouragement and help.
