Description
=========
🐮🐑We are looking for help over the upcoming winter months, to help out with feeding the animals! Preferrably someone who is looking for a longer stay - especially over June-July 🐶🐔
=========
Hi there,
We are a family of 4, living on a farm in the deep south of New Zealand, and we are biased but we live in the most beautiful part of the country. We have a 5yo son and a 2yo daughter, a few dogs, a few more sheep and lots more cattle on our farm. We are both open minded and well traveled ourselves so we can relate to (and miss!) the experiences that backpackers encounter and are more than happy to share our great lifestyle with like minded people from different cultures.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We have a dutch/Belgian background in our household and speak Dutch at home but are both fluent in Engish, and I can help myself out in French and German.
We love the experience of meeting people of different cultures as we both immigrated from other countries many years ago, and we would like to show you the rural lifestyle of Southland, and help you on your way to discover the beauty that our beautiful part of the country has to offer!
It's great to expose our kids to different nationalities and habits as well, to broaden their horizon and exposure to new ideas and habits.
Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

Help
Helping out with:
*FEEDING CATTLE: This is job #1 this time of year and as Southland's weather can be very unpredictable, we can expect 4 seasons in one day! Work can be quite physical at times and the weather can be below average . 🌬🌧❄️Think mud, horizontal rain, freezing wind. But the next day you can be out in T-Shirt! 🌞⛱️ please be mentally prepared for hard, physical work and cold weather!
If you want to, the following jobs could be helpful too:
*meal prep
*helping around the house
* feeding the chickens, collecting eggs

Accommodation
We offer a private sel contained unit. On the days you work, you can have all meals with the family if desired.

What else ...
As we live rural, you will need your own car to get around the area on your days off. You don't need your own vehicle for during working hours.
As we have small children in our house, we require a person with a mature and responsible mindset and common sense around the kids.

We had great talks and Liz always tries to help. The kids are just wonderful and I had a lot of fun playing and building castles together.
If it would fit into my plans I would have stayed much longer, but I am looking forward to visit them again.☺️
