    Description

My name is Consuelo, a professional architect with training in sustainable architecture. Two years ago, along with my partner Pablo, Permacultura Podcast founder with experience in eco-villages throughout Latin America, we began the dream of building our house using natural architecture techniques and recycled materials. Throughout this time, we've been fortunate to be joined by several volunteers passionate about sustainable building.
Our project is located in Pilolcura, a beautiful beach just a 5-minute walk from our site. We are nestled in a rural setting, surrounded by the biodiversity of the Valdivian rainforest, and 40 minutes by car from the city of Valdivia.

    Teaching and Sharing:
A space for learning and promoting permaculture, those with knowledge or experience in permaculture principles are highly welcomed. Volunteers could potentially host mini-workshops or share their experiences, techniques, and insights with both the team and new volunteers.

    Cultural Exchange:
We highly value the cultural exchange aspect of hosting volunteers. Sharing stories, recipes, music, and experiences from different parts of the world can be as enriching as the construction itself. We encourage volunteers to bring a piece of their world to Casa Loma, making it a melting pot of cultures and ideas.

    Natural Building Assistance:
We're in search of enthusiastic Workawayers with a passion for sustainable living to assist us in the ongoing construction. While experience in natural building techniques and using recycled materials is a plus, it's not essential. We're more than willing to teach and guide volunteers through the process. Tasks may include preparing and mixing natural materials, assembling structures, and contributing to the overall design and functionality of our future home.

    General Assistance:
There's always a myriad of tasks around a construction site. This might involve moving materials, preparing the site for the next phase of construction, cleaning, and even assisting in the kitchen or with general camp maintenance, especially during our summer camping periods.
