Description
This place is our beautiful 5 acres in the Strathbogie Ranges in the small town of Strathbogie, a vibrant community of artists, musicians, nature lovers and farmers. Most of us grow food. I grow apples, nashis, berries and citrus and a variety of seasonal vegetables non-commercially. We have many community gatherings, cooking and sharing meals, projects for fundraising with art and music events and Sunday morning dance sessions. There are guitars and a piano amongst other instruments you are welcome to play.
I like to cook healthy meals with some local meat at times and would be happy to share cooking or have you cook your favourite meals. I have a cosy cottage which can accomodate workawayers. People with good building and maintenance skills are warmly received.
We have wombats possums and koalas visiting and a wide diversity of birds but currently are not keeping any farm animals. There are natural swimming spots for the summer and bikes available to ride around the plateau. Bushwalks can be taken in many directions with hills to climb and great vistas.
It is a 20 minute walk if you wish to visit the local store for provisions, good coffee and local produce.
Help is needed with small building projects, maintenance jobs, garden work including pruning, revitalising garden beds, planting and firewood collection.
We are 20 mins drive from the train station which is 2 hours from Melbourne. There is no public transport in Strathbogie but lifts are generously found.
