Description
Hi there! Feel like spending the summer months in one of the Bavarian Alps‘ most scenic spots? Come and join me in beautiful Bayrischzell, a small village right next to the Austrian border, surrounded by stunning mountains and lakes and only an hour away from Munich!
I‘m Franzi, 27 years old, born and bred in Bayrischzell. I've been running my seasonal bistro/ café for two years now. It is part of our local outdoor swimming pool and I can confidently say that I've done my best to transform the place from a greasy little french fry window to a reputable local hotspot serving quality food, the best coffee in town, carefully selected wines and more.
I am deeply rooted in this gorgeous place on earth and would like to share it with you! In the summer months the place is bursting at the seams with traditional Bavarian events and parties that immerse you in our beautiful culture. From cycling, hiking, tennis, to trail running and climbing, we‘ve got it all right on our door step.
You will soon learn that the locals are one big family and the support and respect that is shown towards each other is unlike anything you have ever experienced.
Apart from serving high quality food and drinks to people I am also putting on live music events once a month which are a huge success, featuring talented musicians from Australia, South Africa, England, Canada, New Zealand as well as locals and I can‘t wait to do it all again!
It truly is a unique and beautiful place and I am so proud of what I have built and achieved so far. Excited to take it to the next level - potentially with your help! :)

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Since we are a local hotspot you are in an excellent position to get to know and connect with people. Our local sport clubs like tennis, football, bike riding etc are always open for new members and you will surely find what suits you best.
Within the job you will improve your basic skills in the kitchen and ideally get a good eye for detail and what makes us a top notch yet laid back and easy going café. I can also train you in barista and bartending skills if desired :)
So far I have spent 4 years living in Dublin, Ireland, one year in BC, Canada and right now I am in the Vorarlberg region in Austria for the winter season. I miss speaking English on a regular basis as well as travelling and exploring new places and cultures, so I would love to welcome someone international into our little team!

Help
Your main job will be working the kitchen. There is no previous experience necessary, although it would be of help. Let me assure you though, me and my friends had no previous experience either when we started this project and were managing perfectly fine, so that‘s that :)
Food wise we‘re keeping it simple and straight forward with the most popular and main dishes being fries, Currywurst and Schnitzel. As in any kitchen setting, cleaning up after your shift, stocking and checking fridges and so on are also part of your duties.
I would preferably host you for the whole summer, so 4 months in total but I am open to discuss this further!
You will get paid 15€/h as well as equally split tips that are given out every evening.

Accommodation
For accommodation you will have your own, private place right in the village which includes a private bathroom, a small kitchen and garden access! As seen in the picture it is rather small, but the wood and the way it looks from the outside gives it a very 'Bavarian mountain hut' feel which I think is quite nice . Wifi is available at the café and partly at the accommodation (connection is a little unstable unfortunately). It is only a short 5 minute walk away from the café and since Bayrischzell is fairly small in general, you have everything within very close proximity (Grocery shop, butcher, bakery, train station etc)

What else ...
You can check my project out on instagram - ask me for the link :)
