    Description

Hello! We live in QLD's Southern Downs (3 hours from Brisbane). A beautiful granite landscape in a cool climate with a friendly country atmosphere. The area grows many crops from apples, stone fruit and is Qld's largest wine growing area. We grow a variety of wine grapes for our own consumption (no cellar door or sales involved) and require assistance with the vineyard and other odd tasks. We are actually in the process of selling our property - reluctantly - but we have to follow where the tasks are. We have 56 acres (approx 22Hectare) with 10 acres under vine. We have a lovely older style Queenslander that could use a little extra love in terms of a lick of paint and repairs.
We love to meet new people, share meals and ideas and would love to welcome you to our home.

Pete (dad) has recently taken long service leave from a busy job and is working hard at tidying up and maintaining the property. Pete has extensive knowledge in viticulture, botany, tourism, IT and business management.

Megan, me! (mum) works away (in education) three days a week and returns for long weekends. I love cooking and entertaining.

Whilst we enjoy the serenity of the bush around us, we are only a ten-minute drive to our town of Stanthorpe. If you hold a current and valid driver's licence, we do have a vehicle you could use.

We love to cook and enjoy good wine, conversation and welcoming a little bit of cultural variety to our family life.
Become part of our family - you are very welcome here.

  • Help

    Help

We need help (and company) for tasks around the vines and the property as we prepare to sell. This primarily involves general upkeep. Brush cutting, mowing, weeding and vine tasks, irrigation. The house also needs a little love and attention in terms of painting and cleaning. It is all quite simple, but does take time.

After a few hours of help of a morning there is nothing more satisfying than sitting down for a rewarding lunch and a chat.

We are happy to have your help for a few hours for a few days a week (we're flexible with days and times) and we may even be able to help you find some paid employment in between.

We enjoy ending our days with an outdoor fire next to the granite boulders watching the sun set.

We often have events/functions to attend in town or with family and friends on the Gold Coast and Brisbane. You would be more than welcome to come along with us as we would happily show you around this part of the world. Stanthorpe - The Granite Belt - also has plenty of recreational activities available. We are short drive to the picturesque Girraween National Park. We are lucky enough to have a wide range of vineyards and cellar doors surrounding the area.
