    Description

We are completely full now until July.

Seeking individuals for a short OR long-term commitment to help drive and provide companionship for my mother who is coping with dementia, also cooking, light cleaning and gardening and crafting! As she use to do lots of sewing and other crafts, like knitting but seems to have forgotten.

Our spacious and serene home, situated in the picturesque southern suburbs of Sydney (Caringbah South), offers a tranquil environment close to the bay and beautiful Cronulla beaches.

Our household includes two lively four-year-old dogs, Boo and Bear (Pomeranians), and two 12-year-old cats, Pippa and Nila. Our residence is surrounded by lush greenery, contributing to a peaceful atmosphere.

Transportation is not that convenient, a 20-40 minute walk or a 5-minute drive to the local train stations or Cronulla beaches. The train station is within a 20-40 minute walking distance, or a 7-minute drive, and buses are also available nearby. I have an available bike for use.

Our home features a pool with mineral salts (unheated) for those interested in a refreshing dip. Additionally, our water is entirely filtered through a "Complete Home Water Filtration" system, ensuring purity for showers, sinks, and laundry.

As an environmentally conscious individual, I strive for a plastic-free, decluttered, and inviting home. Organic and natural products are a staple, aligning with my passion for sustainable living. While my organic e-commerce shop is currently offline, I still have a variety of organic products throughout the house.

I'm also open to collaboration on restarting my businesses they are all currently offline.

My father was a retired radiologist, and my 92-year-old mother, was a retired primary school teacher from Boston, USA. It's only my mother, myself and a dear friend named Kevin, 37 from the UK living here now. And usually one other workaway.

Our home is equipped with solar panels, a worm farm for composting (where assistance is welcomed), rainwater tanks, and a small herb garden. Your contribution to our household is not only welcomed but valued as we strive to maintain a sustainable and harmonious living space.

Our house was built in the 70s and so it is not updated... slowly I am getting things replaced.. but the carpet for the upstairs is not good which will hopefully be replaced in April or May.

If you'd like friends to stay they may as long as they can contribute $35 per night or do a workaway situation as we have to clean their sheets, towels, pay for water for showers and perhaps a bit of food and drinks.

  • Help

    Help

Mum is in need of companionship and assistance with various tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and decluttering. We also require help with driving, and you're welcome to use our reliable car to take them places but we generally don't lend it out unless you are an exceptional driver/person which we find most workaways are.

I'm also interested in receiving music lessons, specifically in piano, guitar, or advanced ukulele. Additionally, if you have massage skills, I have two massage machines that can be used on anyone here. And I love to have foot massages as they frequently are sore.. which is another reason we require help.

The expected hours for chores are as follows:

2-3 hours for cleaning, gardening, driving and providing companionship/help to my mum
1-2 for walking the dogs in the morning and afternoon. 1 hour morn, 1 hour afternoon.
1 hour for cooking (either lunch or dinner or both).

These tasks sum up to 5 hours a day, and the hours can be divided as needed. Music teaching, massage, healing, and assistance with computer/business matters will be considered as part of your overall hours if you have any of those skills.. if not don't worry!
