    Description

We have lived in Havelock North, Hawkes Bay for 30 plus years and are active in the local community both with business and not for profit. We think Havelock North is the best place in New Zealand, affectionally known as the sunshine capital of New Zealand, which allows time to explore all that the region has to offer. We have 3 adult children who have flown the nest....

We have travelled extensively internationally and enjoy and understand different cultures. We always enjoy meeting new people and have pleasure in seeing young people develop and grow personally. Julie is well known for her fantastic cooking. Our house is only 3 years old and offers modern accommodation with a self-contained ensuite and kitchenette. The property has amazing views over Hawkes Bay is only 5 minutes drive to the local village centre, close to wineries and beaches and other Hawkes Bay attractions.

Hawke’s Bay has a wealth of natural attractions.

Locals and visitors alike love getting outdoors in Hawke's Bay. Whether it be a walk up Te Mata Peak, an adrenaline-filled rafting trip down the Mohaka River, or perhaps a lazy day at Waimarama Beach, the diversity of our outdoor experiences means there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Hawke’s Bay offers endless cycling options.

Take a gentle half-hour spin along the coast, or a four-day exploration of our backcountry roads, or something in between.

The climate is ideal, almost any type of bike can be hired, and there is a café at every destination. You'll also never be too far from one of our 70+ wineries across the region, should your ride leave you a little parched.

Hawke’s Bay’s art scene punches above it’s weight.

From gorgeous boutique contemporary gallery spaces and artist studios to museums and Napier’s stunning Seawalls mural experience, there’s no need to head to big cities when you can get your culture fix right here in the Bay.

Each year thousands to flock to Hawke’s Bay’s Art Deco Festival.

Fox furs, boaters and beads are the order of the day as the Festival is a dress up party like no other. You’ll feel as if you’ve gone back in time as the streets are reclaimed by vintage vehicles and old jazz tunes blast from the street corners. Outside of the festival, Hawke’s Bay still retains a strong Art Deco vibe thanks largely to the architecture of the area which came about following a devastating earthquake in 1931 which destroyed much of central Napier. Take a tour in a vintage car or hire a guide to show you the best examples of Art Deco buildings you’ll see anywhere.
