Description
We are Pénélope & Gabriel and earlier this year we found a non-profit organization called to host art and meditation retreats in Québec, Canada. Our mission is to provide a space for artistic, introspective, and disciplinary pursuits while integrating agroecological and socioecological practices. Through retreats, creative residencies, and community activities, we aim to reconnect people with the land, its rhythms, and its ecosystems. We are not quite ready to open fully, we need help to set up the proprity and our ideas! Volunteers who join us will contribute to maintaining and enriching our spaces — from forests to communal areas — while experiencing a way of living that values creativity, ecology, and collective living.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We invite Workawayers to share a way of life rooted in creativity and connection with nature. Like our retreat participants, volunteers are expected to dive into a personal project or meaningful discipline during their stay, while also sharing their skills, passions, and knowledge with others. Workawayers will have access to our artistic and introspective spaces as well as the opportunity to join workshops and activities happening on site.We believe that each person’s path flourishes in moments of solitude, and becomes even richer when exchanged, fostering both personal and collective well-being.
Registered charity
This host is a registered charity in their country and is looking for volunteers to help with their project(s).
Help
We are looking for volunteers to help with a variety of tasks depending on the season and ongoing projects. This may include maintaining trails, cooking, cleaning, gardening, landscaping, construction, and supporting events.Your help will focus only on our setup and shared projects — never on tasks related to paying guests or their areas. We are looking for volunteers who are independent, resourceful, and comfortable working both alone and as part of a team. We value creativity, initiative, and a sense of responsibility — so if you enjoy taking ownership of your help and contributing to a collective project, you will be a great fit here. We also encourage volunteers to take initiative and share their own skills, knowledge, and passions with the community.

We offer comfortable single beds in the main house, but volunteers should be flexible, as depending on events, they may need to sleep in tents or a camper. Meals are buffet-style for breakfast, a large communal for lunch and a light communal for dinner. Everyone is expected to help with cooking and meal preparation. We offer healthy, local, and diverse produce. Most meals are vegetarian, but some include locally sourced meat or game.
