    Description

We are a family living on 58 acres in the beautiful Motueka Valley, needing help with our restoration project, trying to replant the majority of the property in natives, and weed out and restore the existing native bush. We are also looking for people who are interested in engaging with the family and sharing their culture with us. We think this can be a really great learning experience for our children, (aged 12, 10 and 8) and us. We also have lots of animals that love visitors, 2 super friendly dogs, 2 happy cats, sheep, guinea pigs, chickens, ducks and a very sweet pony.

The Nelson/ Tasman region is a great place for nature lovers with lots of beautiful beaches and amazing walks in the area. There is rock climbing in Golden Bay, and cycle trails and incredible mountain biking all around us. There are also great cafes and a buzzing art and craft scene. There is lots on offer and lots to experience. Over the hot summer months, the river is 2 minutes down the road, and there are so many stunning beaches to swim at.

Check out our website - ask me for the link- to see what we are trying to do.

We can offer a Kiwi family life style, sharing a living space, sharing some meals, games and conversation. We love for people to be part of the family life and interacting with us and the kids. Time spent with animals and in nature.

We would love to learn about other cultures, language, food and customs. As well as getting to know a diverse group of people.

We have a cabin with a lovely private bedroom with queen bed, and single bunks. There is a heater and set of drawers.
We share the kitchen, bathroom and lounge space during the day and evening, but we have a house bus that we sleep in and spend the later evenings in.
The lounge is heated with a wood burner. We have a TV and internet. Plus lots of games!

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There are plenty of great places to visit after your 3 hours working and in your days off, whether you are hiking, biking, fishing, going to the beach, or going to the movies, cafes, local music shows and markets.

We live rurally, there is no public transport and we are 30 minutes to the next main town. We are a non smoking/ vaping home and property. You need a good level of fitness as the property is steep and the work mostly physical. Animals are a big part of our lives. We homeschool our kids, so we are all home together during the days, when we are not out at activities. We are a welcoming and interested family who are looking forward to meeting interesting and friendly people.
