Description
Live With Us in Portugal 🌿
Hi!
We're Kathi and Adrian, both 29 years old, and we live in a house surrounded by 3 hectares of land on the Portuguese coast together with Carlos, our friendly dog (a cockapoo).
What makes this place special is that it's still evolving. We don't just want someone to stay here—we'd love to create something together. There are lots of ideas waiting to come to life: building a chicken coop, creating a vegetable garden, making cozy outdoor spaces, and turning the property into an even more welcoming place for everyone who visits.
You will have your own private room and be part of a relaxed, international environment. Outside of helping a few hours a day, your time is your own. You can explore the area, surf in nearby Ericeira, work remotely, study, meet people, or simply enjoy the Portuguese lifestyle.
We love good conversations, spontaneous adventures, and people who enjoy creating things rather than just consuming them. Whether you're a student, traveler, digital nomad, or simply looking for a different experience abroad, we'd love to hear your story.
If you're looking for more than just a free place to stay—if you'd like to be part of creating a home and a community—we'd be happy to welcome you.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Both German potatos but we love the exchange with other countries. We’ve been traveling to: Japan, Hawaii, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, Peru, Kuba, USA, Marocco etc.
We believe that cultural exchange is one of the most rewarding aspects of hosting Workawayers. During their stay, visitors will not only help with our daily projects and activities, but also become part of our everyday life. We enjoy spending time together, sharing meals, conversations, local traditions, and exploring the area whenever possible.
Workawayers will have the opportunity to learn about our lifestyle, language, and the local community in portugal. Depending on their interests, we are happy to share our knowledge and experience in areas such as surfing, gardening, sustainable living, DIY projects, cooking, language, etc.. We encourage an open exchange of ideas, experiences, and perspectives.
We strive to make every Workawayer feel like a valued member of our family/team rather than just a volunteer. We enjoy getting to know people from different backgrounds and creating a welcoming, respectful, and friendly atmosphere where everyone feels included.
At the same time, we hope to learn from our guests as well. We love hearing about different cultures, traditions, languages, and ways of life. Hosting visitors from around the world broadens our horizons and often leads to lasting friendships and meaningful connections.
Our goal is for every Workawayer to leave not only with new skills and experiences, but also with wonderful memories, a deeper understanding of our life, and the feeling of having been part of something special.

Accommodation
You will have your own room in our spacious house.
We provide all food and cover all meal-related costs during the Workawayer’s stay. Workawayers will have access to a variety of fresh ingredients and will enjoy three meals a day as part of the exchange.
Meal preparation is often a shared activity and part of our daily life together. Workawayers are welcome to help with cooking and grocery shopping, which we see as a great opportunity for cultural exchange. We enjoy sharing recipes, trying dishes from different countries, and learning about each other’s food traditions.
All groceries and household food expenses are covered by us. We want our guests to feel comfortable and at home, so there is no need for them to budget for meals during their stay. We encourage everyone to participate in creating a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere around shared meals, which is often one of the highlights of the Workaway experience.
