Description
We are Pedro and Nádia that started this agriculture project in 2012 when we returned to Pedro's birth town (Bragança) and wanted to revive the abandoned family lands.
Our family grew last years and we have with us Afonso (born in 2013) and Gaspar (born in 2016).
We have several interests and the farm is very diverse:
- Bees, polinization and honey
- Condiment herbs
- Mushrooms
- small and wild fruits
- Vegetables inside and outside greenhouse
- Fruit trees
- Ecological construction
Altough years pass, we still feel in an implementation phase so we are happy to receive anyone who want to share and help to build this project.
Our inspiration is permaculture and we try to learn and help nature.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT OUR AVILABILITY

We can share our agriculture project, help you to know the northeast of Portugal, share our points of view and challenges. Take you to the mountain river and other interesting places in the area.
Teach you a bit of Portuguese and organic farming.
People that will enjoy this volunteering (at least they should match one of this):
- Like nature (We are in a few population natural park)
- Dont mind to be in a very quite place in a very small village (The house is in a village with 20 people, 5km from a small town)
- Want to learn about ecological farming (mostly vegetable anf fruit garden)
- Want to have an experience in agriculture
- Are not afraid to be alone or with others (sometimes we are 10 sometimes there is only 1 person in the house)
- Who want to lean portugueseHelp
We are not a business. What we produce is for ourselves or to trade with people.
We are not financially sustainable, so we cannot pay you for your help. Also thats not the spirit.
The help we need is to maintain the house, the garden and everything arround this idea of sustainable farm.
The tasks can be very diverse and change along the year and we are happy reschedule our agenda if you want to work in a specific issue (if its possible for us)
All the work is volunteer, so you only participateon the tasks you feel confortable in helping with. The idea is that you pass a confortable time here., so we'll organize the tasks together.
Our inspiration is permaculture. Our dream is to have an off-grid, self sustainable farm tha we can share with others.
The is a lot of ideas and we are open to anybody that wants to help. Help with ideas, help with maintenance, help with anything arround this ideaLanguages

We live in the city, 5km from the farm
We have a 'new' old house in the vilage near the farm that is for the volunteers so you can have some independence. But we'll try to organize things together and share at least some meals from those some will be also in our house in the city.
The house in the vilage is a typical and simple village house with a fireplace, kitchen, bathroom, living room, dinning room (used currently as storage) and 4 bedrooms. There is also a balcony with a nice view.
FOOD
The meals are prepared by the volunteers for the volunteers. Usually we take turns in cooking so we can enjoy each culture flavours. But this depend a lot on the group. Some people are more individualistic others the oposite. But we want to promote comunitarian living.
We have a vegetarian diet but you are free to add anything you want to it at your responsibility.
The group meals should meet everyone's diet, but at the volunteers house, the volunteers decide.
