    Description

Hello! I am an experienced host and solo mum by choice living with five year old Issy and JoJo our very cute Bordoodle.

We love Workaway and have been hosting for over five years. It's a wonderful opportunity to meet people from new cultures and bring life and energy into our home.

We live in the beautiful beachside town of Torquay.

Long term or short term stays are possible, depending where we are at. I will have an aupair with me from mid-April to August - where shorter-term stays are most likely preferable (1-2 weeks).

It’s lovely for Issy to have young men around the house. So if you're male and authentically enjoy the company of children please get in touch. That said, right now I am missing the feminine touch and would love someone to come in look after the mumma in the homewith nourishing home cooked meals and house-holder initiative!

It means a lot for me to have other adults in the house so I can take a morning / evening stroll while you hang out with Issy. Or just another set of hands to walk JoJo, tend to the chickens and the garden. This said I have painting projects, furniture refurbishment and lots to do in the garden. I am open to anyone who is the right fit and do my best to encourage people to work with their strengths and interests.

I love having keeping my house beautiful. This is as much about cleanliness as about maintaining a warm, open, happy energy. As a single working mum I need help with the maintenance of our home and day-to-day upkeep.

It's super important that guests show initiative. Emptying the dishwasher if it's full, helping out with meals, cleaning up after themselves. The last I want is another child to parent!

We eat a primarily vegetarian whole-food diet. We grow lots of our own vegetables and appreciate beauty around us. If you have an eye for keeping beautiful spaces and cleaning we'd love to host you!

Sometimes I need extra help with babysitting. Other times its more practical help in the garden or with painting etc.

There are also other projects that come up:

Painting, sanding & small building projects

I live in paradise. Whether you like to stroll on the beach, surf or stand-up paddle board, hike in national parks.

I live in a small (ish) surfing town that gets very busy over the summer period! You will have plenty of time to explore the Surf Coast and the Great Ocean Road. Torquay is now a vibrant small town that has just about everything on offer. You'll also learn about life with a young child and will likely pick up some garden skills.

I live in a big house (split levels) with sea-views and a generous garden. You will have your own private bedroom, Queen bed and access to a bike with a surf rack. We have 4 chickens and a pooch. On work evenings I often like to vege out and have time to myself but otherwise we love to have play, sing, dance and have lots of fun.

    What else ...

I do my best to keep screens out of shared spaces and ask all guests to do the same, especially away from my son. Please keep your mobile devices in your room, or use them in shared spaces once he is asleep.

It is essential that guests actually enjoy being with little people (my son is t 5) and are comfortable to engage, enquire, connect with my son. My priority is that he feels comfortable with who is in the house. He loves having extra people around, which for him is more company and hopefully play.
