Description
The foundation is an organization from which we experiment, create and develop spaces, objects and actions to restore the Earth while restoring ourselves.
From our Sustainability Laboratory, based in an Andean forest reserve 30 minutes from Bogotá, Colombia, we make available our daily life and works framed in the understanding and exercise of care for 13 years, as seeds for the loving tissue to spread . With workshops in different practices guided by invited teachers, residency proposals from different disciplines and volunteer plans, we open our space to the meeting between us and with others, to inspire us in the restoration of territory.
In our LAB X we have a furnished room, with internet, shared kitchen and bathroom, to receive volunteers of legal age, of any origin, and with current medical insurance, who find in our ongoing projects, the exchange of knowledge and their labor in previously agreed projects, either individually or as part of the work-in-progress group (if applicable), with a workload of 4 hours on business days. Volunteers can apply as candidates choosing the work of their preference and according to their skills, among bioconstruction, carpentry, orchard and/or gardening.
The foundation offers the selected volunteer training in bioconstruction and carpentry, work tools, lunch and basic market for volunteers to prepare their meals in a fully equipped kitchen.Types of help and learning opportunities

Travelers visiting our project will learn architecture and bioconstruction techniques, surrounding themselves with creative exercise in our everyday life. They will be able to participate in the diverse ongoing activities, workshops and collective constructions at LAB X, and will feel surrounded by the various living species of the Andean forest that has inspired our life and work.
They will be able to enjoy the proximity of the exciting city of Bogotá (just 30 mins. away) and retire to the unique beauty of the Chingaza paramo, Guatavita and other places of the Sabana.Help
We are currently finishing the third module of "Palafito Montañero", a bioconstruction house on stilts in the Andean Forest. We need volunteers in the application of interior earth wall finishings. Participants will receive training in Bioconstruction, learn how to make the different natural finishing mixes and the application techniques, guided by the directors of the foundation.
Volunteers can also receive training in carpentry using repurposed pine wood, participate in the construction of floors using repurposed glass, in gardening and in the maintenance of our organic orchard.Languages spoken

Even though we only had a bit more then one week there, we felt so welcomed and enjoyed every day. We are really happy for doing a part of the wall finishings. We learned how to use and mix the materials and we had the freedom to find our own way of applying it. The carpentry work was a… read more
