I stayed with them for a 2 months <3. Overall I would give them a 78%

CONS:
1. Very limited/ no internet access.
2. It would have been nice to know more background information about Antonella before and during living with them, instead of having to find out the hard way. The job would have been way easier if I already knew this information
3.… read more When I first arrived, she tried to make me drive her car when I didn't feel comfortable & then tell me that if something happened to it, I would have to pay for the damages. Thank God I put my foot down & said no because her car was already in bad shape & broke down midway through my stay, and another tine she got a flat tire. I would have blamed for that stuff & had to pay a lot of money!
3. There were roaches in my room. There weren't too many but just as an FYI because some people can't stand them
4. I felt like I was often being blamed for things that weren't my fault/ like Nancy would try to pick fights sometimes. There were roaches in the house/ in my room & for some reason, she tried to say the ones in my room were my fault even though they were already having roach problems before. Her daughter spoke up & said it wasn't my fault, because they had left the cat food in the room before I arrived. In addition, without knowing some background info about Antonella, I got blamed for things that I shouldn't have at first & I had to set it straight that it wasn't my fault because I didn't know (intentionally not going into details for privacy reasons).
5. I was judged based on my diet sometimes. A big thing in my country is to not judge people by their diets, but I was shamed almost every time that I would order myself a food item they didn't eat. It would sometimes make me feel uncomfortable.
6. With Cali being so dangerous, I think Nancy should have explained some things about the city better when I had to go out for/ with her daughter. Me even looking like a Caleña, it was still dangerous for me when she put me into some situations without explaining well.

PROS:
1. Antonella is ADORABLE, and full of energy. She's so fun. Love her so much.
2. They provided me with yummy meals
3. GREATTTTT OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN SPANISH/ ADVANCE
4. They live in a safer area in the city & you can easily walk to Parque de Perros or to the Il Eclat Pelqueria to get your hair and nails done for cheap
5. I had a lot of privacy. Nancy made it very clear with her daughter that she could only enter into my room if she asked me and I permitted her. I also had a lot of free time at home alone
6. They were flexible with my schedule
7. They took me out to see different parts of the city sometimes
8. Even though there was a roach problem, they had an awesome cat that would eat the roaches
9. The cultural things that I learned living with Afro Colombians were amazing. They made me fall in love with Cali.
10. They looked out for me when I would go out on my days off
11. They let me use their washing machine for free
12. They followed the rules of Workaway in regards to giving me time off
