    Description

    Hello Workawayers! 👋

We’re a busy but laid-back family of three (plus our friendly but shy cat!), with our 18-month-old daughter, Lucy. We live in Lake Macquarie, NSW - just a short drive from Redhead Beach and several other beautiful beaches near Newcastle.

Both of us work - Brody is an engineer, and I (Emma) work part-time for the State Government while juggling life with a toddler. While our work keeps us busy, family time is our priority, and that’s where you come in!

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable, and proactive person to help with household tasks like cooking, cleaning, laundry, and tidying. This will free up our time so we can focus on Lucy and enjoy quality moments together. Occasional babysitting may be needed, but the main role is to help keep the house running smoothly.

In our free time, we love exploring Newcastle, spending time outdoors at the beach, parks, or around Lake Macquarie. If you enjoy an active, coastal lifestyle, you’ll fit right in!

Experience with housework and kids is a plus, but most importantly, we want someone who will feel like part of the family.

If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, please get in touch. We’d love to hear more about you and see if we’d be a good match!

Looking forward to hearing from you! 😊

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We love diversity and enjoy learning about different cultures! We’d love for you to share your traditions, experiences, and even speak to our daughter in your native language - it’s a wonderful way for her to be exposed to different sounds and cultures from an early age.

In return, we’ll share our Australian hospitality, introduce you to the Aussie way of life, and even teach you some classic Australian recipes (and slang)! We also love trying new foods, so we’d be excited for you to cook and share your favorite meals with us!

  • Help

    Help

    Maximum 4-5 hours a day, 5 days a week (up to 20hrs/week)

Our needs vary depending on what’s a priority at the time, but we’re primarily looking for an in-house helper to support us with routine, everyday tasks, including:

    • Meal prep and cooking
    • Tidying up after meals (stacking the dishwasher, washing up)
    • Laundry (washing, folding)
    • Cleaning tasks (wiping down surfaces, fridge, pantry, oven)
    • Washing and vacuuming cars
    • Light gardening (weeding, watering)
    • Occasional help with Lucy (playing, feeding, supervising)

We appreciate flexibility, as some days may be busier than others. In return, we’re happy to offer flexibility with time off, especially for long-term stays, so you can explore greater NSW at your own pace.
