    Description

    Bonjour!

We are Pete (English/French), Emilie (12 years old) and Sidney (9 years old). Our place is an old chateau set in 29 acres of meadow, in the Pyrenees mountains, 1h30 south of Toulouse.

We'd love you to help us with:
    - Splitting wood for heating next winter
    - Stacking wood
    - Tidy up our vegetable patch (weeding, turning soil etc)

We have one room available (for a couple or one person) and looking for people who are practical, hard-working, enjoy physical work and being outdoors. Ideally a person who can split wood...
You should be fairly independent and comfortable around children as our kids will love interacting with you!

    About us:
We've finished renovating the interior of the chateau in 2009, and with sustainability in mind, installed solar panels for hot water, photovoltaic panels for electricity, rain water collection, composting. We're using our own wood for cooking and heating in the winter; and eating fruits and vegetables from our garden in the summer months.
As well as working from home in IT, we're running a holiday rental cottage, in the outbuilding near the chateau.

We are situated in a hamlet 10 minutes away from St Girons, the main local town, which has many shops, cafes and a great traditional farmer's market every Saturday.
In your spare time, you can enjoy the outdoor activities nearby (mountain walks, bike rides, gliding, climbing, caves, etc); check out the local antique shops, cheese shops etc or venture for a day out in Toulouse (direct bus from St Girons).

We have wi-fi, free international phone calls, can lend you a laptop and offer bicycles to get around.
