    Description

My sweet little abode up in the Garwal Himalayas, nested in the Harsil Valley is nothing less than a natures wonder land. Our homestay is beautifully placed amidst an apple orchard with a constant music of the mighty Bhagirathi river and the dancing Deodars. With 18" thick walls and complete wooden interiors, it beautifully represents the kotibanal style of architecture. You will see the sun rising from the mighty black peak of tibet once you get out of your comfy room in the morning and hear the sounds of drums rolling from the holy Mukhba village, the winter home of goddess Ganga.

On a walk to the village of Dharali you will see the old grannies beating the shit of the Rajma and the grand kids at the same time. Further you will see the gaumata's (cows) strolling on the village trails, munching on the apples, with the fellow humans, dropping the most auspicious dung every where on the street only to be used as a plaster for the beautiful homes of stones and woods. While you walk on the pathways with stone lined boundaries on the sides you will hear namaste, pranam, theek ho, theek theek shot at you from every house.

Getting to the some of the activities this place provides:
at about 3 kms from our home you can reach the beautiful sattal (7 lakes) an easy trek amidst the dense deodar forest.
Exploring the historical 8 villages like Mukhba, Baghori, Jhala in the Upper Tangnore area.
Hiking on the riverbed of the mighty Bhagirathi river to reach the Markandeshwar temple.
You can visit Gartangali, Gangotri, Gaumukh.
The treks and expedition this region facilitates are Mt. Shivling, Mt. Meru, Tapovan, Shrikanth, Kyarkuti Bugyal, Jhinda Bugyal, etc
With the plethora of places to visit in and around the area, innumerable hikes and treks, the local flora and fauna, it truly is paradise.
