    Description

    Tēnā koutou,
We are a French/Algerian/Kiwi family. We moved to the North of the South Island (Te Wai Pounamou) in 2023 and live on a four hectare property where there is lots to be done. Mathew is into agroecology, permaculture and conservation. He has experience running workshops and leading work groups. Rym is interested in Indigenous knowledge, community development and the disruption of the current economic system.

There are a range of tasks to be done, mainly gardening, fencing work, animal care (chickens and sheep) and fire wood cutting/stacking/moving. Possibly some small renovation tasks for those with the right skills. Tasks will depend on the season and what travellers are comfortable doing, as well as what they want to learn.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

An awesome 2 bedroom settlers cottage, which was built in the 1860s. It is furnished with everything you might need and is comfortable in summer in winter.

    Location:
Although close to many things in the region, we are located in a rural location, so you would probably want to have your own vehicle. There is a bike path close by however that goes to the nearest village (20mn bike ride) from which you can catch a bus. We have bikes you can borrow.
